I tracked down 3 of these schematics...the first and second ones made from the first schematic turned out to be Medical. Trying to track down more leather to make it so she can work on the 2nd schematic hopefully I will have luck

Reply finally someone explains it right lol! Basically when you loot, you get a Schematic:Crafters Apron. A master tailor has to read it. Once read it places a schematic in his/her datapad, and from the ingredients needed, you can tell what type you have. See above post for example.

And for the person that paid 1 mil for the leather, I personally think you did not get a good deal.

The person I got my two pieces from for my chef apron took only 1 case of vasarian brandy (non-be, large glass) for the two pieces, instead of the 2 cases I offered. He said "It may be rare now, but it is only leather after all". So color me lucky there. I know that mentality is rare.

The chef apron requires a food crafting tool and flora as well as the other ingredients. I think that the medical apron takes organic in place of flora, but I haven't actually seen it.

I paid a million for the leather - no idea if I got a good deal or not =)

Here is a quick clarification. The schematic is just one type. All three uses from one schematic will be the same type, med/clothing/food/architecht. The devs should have just called each one Chef Apron, Arch Apron, etc., but they didn't. So when you use the schematic, if it asks for 10 flora and a food/chem crafting station, then it is a chef apron, and if it takes 30 organic instead of 10 flora, then it is a medic apron. You can figure this out easily enough by examing the schematic in the datapad. Also, a tailor can have one of each schematic in their datapad, but can not have duplicate schematics, just fyi

I bought a +3 Experimentation tape and a +4 Assembly and I put them into my Chef apron which has +5 to both and neither of them worked...

That's a known problem with enhanced clothing, sorry. If a piece of clothing has a bonus to some skill (either from a natural bonus like the crafter's apron, the inclusion of BE tissues, or previous skill tapes), any tape affecting the same skill doesn't show up. Or maybe if the skill tape has a larger bonus than the clothing, that bonus over-rides the existing one; so maybe a +6 assembly tape would've made the apron +6, but it wouldn't be +11.

I'm not sure if this is considered a bug, or a "feature" designed to limit the bonus you can get from multiple tapes (you're stuck with one tape per skill per piece of clothing). If it's a feature, its a poorly documented one, a lot of people have got bitten by it...

Bought one of these on my server. I haven't picked it up yet but I'm looking forward to it!
