The actual time is 45m, not 43. So you need to hit 45m or longer to ensure any lag problems. There is a bug that shows up now and then that cause the filling to drop quicker than 45m, so you see error reports of shorter times. For the most part, it is 45m. You generally want 1-2m past that 45m so people have time to que up the brandy in the combat que if they are enaged in combat when the brandy wears out. If they dont have a small buffer, they usually die unless they are fighting little rabbits.

My brandy ranges from 402-412 and 46-47m duration. I have 12 points but crappy additives. Good meat is too hard to come by on starsider these days. The big key is to get it over that 400 mark and that 45 minute mark. Only the little kids that don't quite understand the game what the nutrition as high as it goes.

Thanks, and yeah SS meat and resources kinda stink as of late. Been awhile since we got anything good to spawn.

My most extreme pushes to either duration or power are both in my sig. As one of the top chefs on Starsider along with Ahee and Meparch which are posting here. Its not really worth pushing the power as high as you can without pressing the duration first. Although the higher power will sell faster and for more. Im more for a inbetween brandy, The best brandy that ive ever made In my opinion is +434 for 47 min 50 fill 18 uses.

I don't think durration brandy is all that (in your case +360 59 min) that gives you about 200 extra points to mfw for about 14 minutes by the time you can stack 3 together? And it is a much lower buff then your power brandy till your empty enough to stack 3 at a time... I find the best thing to do is to hit 45 minutes as your priority, and put the rest into power (and if power is maxed, into uses, then filling). Again, my brandy is +432 to +440 power depending on the quality of BSN's I useand 45min exactly (18 uses at 50 filling). Neither power or durration is maxed out in experimentation though. I just feel this is the best combination. Of course you can't compare chef foods between servers as resource stats are soo different...

The 43 minute duration compared to 45 minute duration arguement is an apples oranges thing. What bites my bippy the most is how stupid people really are using chef's foods. Chef's products that buff stat's are best used as stims, not as buffs. (which the 45 minute arguement suggests people should do) I used to be a member of the "buffing group" but plenty of pvp changed my mind.

The player who pop's 2 brandy's at say +420, 50 filling, 45 minute duration will die faster in a fight then the guy who takes 1 of the same brandy's, and saves room for that blue milk. Let's face it, 400 damage is generally removed from the mind in 1 hit by a fencer/rm/cm/swordsman. 2 landed hits negates your entire "brandy bonus" and being full, you have zero options to use to help yourself. If you had taken 1 brandy, you would have room for a 33 filling blue milk at +610 mind heal. That in essence gives you a +1030 mind bonus at 83 filling, compared to a +840 bonus at 100 filling. Unless math has completly evaded me in recent years, +1030>+840.

I try and educate my customers to this line of reasoning, and I have been very sucessful, and in return, so have they in pvp.

Morgan, I see your point but you realize that brandy buffs all 3 stats. So add +420 to all stats not just the mind. I feel the secondaries are much more important then the mind. It's your seconadariesthat regen your mind. In PVP i usually keep my secondaries much higherthen my mind. +3000 to FW,if I time it right(Brandy, Canape, Moun).

Secondary's dont help against DoT's, and there are other foods to boost secondaries. Plus it isn't hard to get master musician buff's. Plus, once you hit 1700 in a substat, the rest is overkill. (doesnt regen any faster)

1 brandy, 2 spiced tea's, leaves room for a blue milk to pull the fat out of the fire better then 2 solid brandy's, and also allows you to sell other products, making you a more diverse retailer...

Hey Morgan,

I would like to know where you got your info on the sub-stat cap of 1700? That would make me re-think my food/drink intake. Can you please point me to something in writing? Thanks

I have found that the cap is actually closer to 1500-1550. Anything over that is overkill, even for amaster Rifleman spamming specials. I have tested this over and over again. There are very rare exceptions to this rule, but none that are worth taking into consideration for 99.9% of the players out there. I dont claim to be proclaiming anything new, since this info has been around for a while.

Bottom line, players are overbuffing themselves. I gave up trying to explain this proactively to my customers ingame awhile ago. LOL. Oh well.

I have seen a resurgence in interest for Ahrisa though. Perhaps the savvy players are starting to figure out how the Chef foods really work. That would be nice. There are a lot of foods out there that are not well known that could be big sellers.

ok question, i know we are all different, but i got +446 for 38, 21 stack, 49 fill. And IMO theres no way im giving up +446 just for it to last longer. My stomach is empty again after 38 minss for me to take some more, Is there something im missing? please tell me if there is, i dont claim to know everything so please enlighten me.

my guess is that you drink only one at a time? lots of folks like to drink two at once, for more of a buff, and in that case, you need to have a high enough duration to let your stomach empty.

as a player I look for anything over 400 combined with anything over 45 mins. My current favorite that I'm using is 407/47mins.

Don't just take into account whats being taken immediately. Yes, its likely 40-80 points lower after the initial double hit (which isn't a big deal to begin with) but you get a full 20+ minutes of having 3 brandies in you if you drink up when your tummy's half empty.

So my advice as a shopper (and hardcore pvp'er) is don't focus so much on the nutritional value.. Just make sure its over 400, and pump the duration as high as it'll go. The extra 80 points is never enough to give you mind free specials anyway. We take ahrisa to put us over the edge on that Actually that's another food I'd like to see less emphasis on the power and more on the duration..

Just my 2 creds
