Vegeparsine was working, taking it as a jedi padawan post-cu would boost def 100 and I would recieve less damage per hit. after the patch 17where they "fixed" food, it does nothing. at least for me

When I tested Vegeparsine before pub 17 I did not see any damage mitigation. I think the problem has been there all time since CU. Maybe you have been re-equipping your saber (for example if you start with normal weapon/clothes then eat Vegeparsine and switch to saber) and that is why you have seen the effect before.
