I retested today using /move itemname up # and that works.
Why couldn't they have just mentioned this new change in the patch notes?
One problem though -- the itemname has to be all one word, but I have a Master Hunter Trophy and since it is multiple words I can't figure out how to raise it up. Suggestions welcome.

You only need to use the first word in the name for it to work, or the first couple letters. Alternatively you can get rid of any uphoster chair, move everything to where you like it, and then put the chair back.

I have tried all of these suggestions, and the one that finally worked for me was using only the first letter of the item while I had it selected.
ie: /move v up 10 for vassarian brandy
Hope this helps. This is the most exciting fix in the game yet imho

Works fine in my cantina. It's a Naboo style located on Rori.

Here's a post from Thunderheart that seems to deal with getting this fixed:

I'll bet if you do "/target up" (or "forward" if you're having problems with that) you'll target whatver's screwing you up. If it's something in your house, you might try picking it up until you get the rest of the stuff arranged.
If you want to try it for yourself, make something simple (I used a small glass) and name it "up{whatever}". I called the item "upsee daisy", and when I dropped it in my house I got the syntax error people have been reporting when I just did "/move up 50" on anything (including "upsee daisy"). Doing "/move upsee up 50" worked.
The item name option seems completely useless, since you can't move anything unless it's targeted anyway.

Not true, you can move untargeted items. I found out about the item name a long time ago when trying to help a friend with a sword stuck in some stairs get it out. By typing /move sword forward 50 I was able to move the sword out from the stairs without targeting it (can't remember if /target sword gave can not see that or I just didn't think of it, either way the /move sword thing worked)
