The Chef revamp gave the Chef profession a much more important role in SWG, there can be no doubt about that.

It gave us a more important role, but can we cope with it if this CU takes away from our role if players no longer need food/drinks, or people do not see the price vs benefit ratio for a food/drink that only lasts 9 minutes and does not double stack. Especially if the CU is making life as a crafter a harder thing by taking away the doc buffs and armor. Not saying I can't get around it, but will it be worth it?

I'm pretty sure you were not a chef before revamp. The reason we all got screwed was becuas the filling on all older foods was shot up through thte roof making it absolutly useless, not any of the jibbersh you have said here.

Well I was around, but that's not really the point. The filling of pre-revamp food stayed the same, what changed was the digestion rate. Food used to digest based on buff duration, so a 5m buff was gone in about 5m, and a 10m buff was gone in about 10m, apparently regardless of the filling amount. This caused all sorts of problems (both technical with the calculations and harder to balance), so the devsthrew it out for a straight time-based digestion with a 45m (then 30m) duration to go from 100% to 0% stomach fill.

That particular problem won't really be an issue with the CU conversion. Any food different post-CU will be morphed into the new stats. While the previous experimentation you did pre-CUmight not be ideal for the new values of a particular food (duration experimentation might be more important than it was before), it does appear that it won't be any worse (or better) than food made after CU with the same experimentation.

Personally, I agree with your outlook and I don't think Chef will be worth it. Just my opinion though and I only got four accounts that will be cancelled after CU is implemented so why would SOE care about my opinion.

Just so everyone is straight. The "Filling" stat of my pre-chef revamp tatooine sunbird almost trippled after the chef revamp. Hence, the filling definately went up. It's just a fact. Sorry.

My god man... be honest. The devs are planning on screwing us. I have over 2000 full crates of food/drink on my vendors. They will all be worth ZILCH after the CU.

Too all chefs that think they should hold on to their stock, DUMP IT NOW. REPRICE it super cheap or you are going to lose it all!

Don't blame SOE, blame myself?

LMAO.

The point is that I should not have to take my own advice. I've not made any comments about whether I have or have not heeded my own warnings. This means you sir, are jumping to conclusions or making assumptions that you should not be made.

Please stick to the subject at hand, which I will reiterate for you.... The conversion rates are all screwed causing us to lose all value of our current vendor stock. SoE needs to fix the conversion rates so that current vendor stock is at least sellable.

i personally sold all my stock out last week and i'm saving my 2 full runs of bsn and inn for the CU... i think it would be a waste to make this food now and then just let it rot.... so i'm going to hold out and see what foods are going to sell after the CU.... i don't want to drop master chef, but i have to make money to support my grinding habits and city... you gotta do what you gotta do.

I keep hearing "chef is going to be worthless because all the foods don't stack and the cost isn't worth the few stats you get." My question is, since buffs are being completely nerfed and ham costs will play a more important role... wouldn't that make foods more important? Also, if stat buffing foods don't stack, wouldn't that just mean more people will buy pikatta pie, vayerbok, synthsteaks and such?

Maybe I am wrong but from the way I am seeing it, the CU will make stat buffing foods more important but not used as much since you can't stack. And since they don't stack, more people will buy other foods but since stats are reduced, they won't use em as much.

So to me, it sounds like chef is going to stay the same in sales of stat buffing and other foods. Please explain if I am wrong, I want to know if my 12 point chef, M BE, xx1x tailor is going to be worthless.
