Thread: Chefs: Still in high demand? Can they still make good money?

There are no less than ten different 12 point Chefs on Starsider that are currently active. Another fifteen or so that are retired or taking a break. I reopened a shop on LOK of all places the last week of February and have done very well so far. Granted, I have spent all of it on a decent spawn of meat for additives, but its still been very good to me. Every server is different, but if you make good food and market yourself you will make money.

As for WHY you should do it? Well....I have tried a lot of crafting professions, and none of them seem to stay interesting for very long. Architect was the absolute worst for me, since you really cant do anything that someone else out there already does exactly the same. I mean, a BER13 harvester is a BER13 harvester. A small tat house is a small tat house. There really isnt much that you can do that is any different fromt he 1000 other times you did it. But with Chef....now THERE is a different story. Anytime I craft ANYTHING it always turns out just a little bit differently. Makes it fun....keeps it fresh. I save ALL of my schematics in droids just so that when I go to craft something I can see exactly what I used for it and consider a different ingredient this time around...maybe try to improve it a bit.

With SO many recipes and foods to make, every crafting day is a fun one. I know a lot of Chefs concentrate on a few foods, and thats fine. But crafting "fringe" foods is a lot of fun ,and there WILL be a market for it. I have sold a good deal of fringe foods in the last several weeks simply because no one else makes them with any regularity. Its a blast to make something besides brandy too. LOL.
