I have heard that heavies are going for about 100K on Starsider. The way I understand it they are way more of a pain to make than a PA Hall and sell for 1/3 the price (ish). I am lucky enough to have a PA where we don't pay for anything within the guild so my guildies get all the Sunburn they need and I get harvies/weps/armor/house etc. Woohoo communism at work lol. Now I jusy need enough money to run the dern things

I bought one large as soon as my architect friend logged in, placed it and was so happy with it, bought another one immediately! Finally can keep up with ingredients, now if they would just fix my factory, I'll be set. LOL

I purchased two last night. A Medium for 42k, and a Large for 82k. I simply LOVE how they both look.

The medium is similar to the small, in that it has a flat angled glass covered dish on top of it. But its much larger then then small.

The Large is completly different. Huge base, Rectangular in shape with two big see through cylinder vats on top. (The vats have green stuff in them) It also has flashing lights on it similar to the other harvesters.

On our server that'd be an expensive medium, and a cheap heavy .

Medium mineral harvesters take much less resources, so they're relatively cheap and affordable. Other mediums however, are not.

Heavy harvesters are a total pain in the ass to make.

Also, consider each one is multiple combines.

In addition consider this: A master weaponsmith(at least on our server) sells a Scout blaster for 12000... that's nearly 100 cr/unit. So it's not really that wrong that an architect sell his wares for 7 credits per unit. Especially when to make the schematics for the identical wall sections you will need to use up the resources for one of them (2000 ore, 800 steel if I remember correctly) to make a factory run of9 wall sections(only 100 identical)

Architects are one of the most underpayed professions as far as payment per resource goes. I don't sell ANYTHING under 10 credits per unit(I've sold stacks of 8 sunburn, which cost 100 resources for 3200... that's 32cpu). I haven't seen any succesful architect manage to sell anything for over 10 credits per unit.

Cut them a break, for gods sake. They have as much right as we do to try and make some profit.

I'm confused.

Were you yelling at me J2Xc? I was offered those prices, I didn't say "hey this is what I will pay" I asked how much for a medium and a small, this is an architect I've been dealing with since he became an architect. Maybe thats why the prices were lower then normal.

I talked to a few architects and they said that they are getting more critical failures than successes in trying to build them. They are including the resources for the critical failures in with the prices.

Thats total BS. If I order a product for someone, I am paying for the product only. I could care less how many times you succeded/failed. If I tell someone I am going to sell them 10 stacks of sunburn with 9 charges per stack. I don't adjust my price because I had to combine 20 stacks to get ten 9 charge stacks. That is the same kind of idiocy that was prevelant in EQ.

Well I am a Master architect and a chef, so here is my opinion. Failing on components to houses and the such compared to losing a few mins from making food. Give me a friggin break. 10's of thousands of mins to a a small handful. See the difference? Don't even try to compare the crit fails in these 2 professions. You will lose.

Well, I've already order 4 mediums, and my architect is only charging me 20k per harvester.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I can and I will compare the two however, its the same exact thing, only in a different volume. YOU might feel you have the right to charge your customers for your combine failures. I personally will take my business to someone that charges for the end product.

Thats the beauty of a working economy, I don't like your prices, I can take my business to someone with better prices. I am not saying I'm right, and your wrong, we just have different opinions on the matter. And sorry, I didn't lose. *chuckle*

Architects fail a lot because their Assembly mod tops out at 55.

Ours tops out at 100 or more. So do most professions that craft.

I still wouldnt roll critical failures into the final price. It's not the customers fault.

If a real life builder Screws up on a house, he doesn't charge the buyer for it.

If a car manufacturer screws up while making a car, he doesnt charge the customer for it.

If a Pizza chef burns the pizza, he doesnt pass on the cost.

Lets jsut all be friends though, aye?

yes they don't charge the customer directly, but those many wasted resources on a crit fail don't help them out any. That's why they need to budget their profit margins to allow for crit fails. The more resources in the schematic (and alos the more complex it is) the higher chance there is for a huge loss of resources. Any artisan is basically making stuff to make money. I don't object to paying 80-100k for a heavy, because I know if I take care of it, it will return on investment over timebecause of its higher effecincy / power ratio compared to the other harvesters.

Think long term.
