Gah! I'm arriving late, hiya chief! /shakes off NYC rain storm

There are a number of small details which I do not know, not being on TS, which should have quite a bit to do with final decisions. If anyone from TS can answer: the few foods which lie dormant until needed, Incap shortening, brief bonus to assembly... how long can they lie dormant? Indefinitely until useful? Or is there a set expiration, such as when the food's stomach expires?

This one detail should affect how we chefs stockpile duration-assisting BE additives, for sure. An infinite wait period would eliminate the duration BAs for a proportional number of dishes, it seems to me. What is left to be answered for these specific buffs is, what exactly can be improved on them? I would like to hear about this also, as I cannot keep up with all the threads. Are their bonuses improveable? Or should we simply strive to make as many uses per as we can?

As has already been mentioned, I had also intended to mainly buy light additives, sicne they are applicable to everything which takes them. Since my grinding time has been limited recently it is up in the air whether I'll be master when the change hits so I may not personally need Heavy BA at that point; in any case, from what I am seeing it will make the applied food so expensive, i believe I will grab asingle batch, most likely affecting buff quality, and lay it away for a very specific special order.

Since I'm an either/or kind of guy, I would then bascially stick to light BAs. Going a small way forward for Mediums isn't worth it for me; either I would make a food with some boost, or none. Also, seems to me that Light BAs are easiest for BEs to make, so, why not spread the love?

And as everyone else, I would like to tinker a bit with what the additives do, or perhaps, even wait a short time for people on the overpopulated servers to do the work and come up with what works best and what is most desired by the food-buyers. I'm not trying to be lazy or selfish; the truth is that I am not selling out of items, and for me to fill my houses with unsold crates of experimental foods and spend my small bank on it, only to have come up with unpopular mixes is not something I'm prepared to do. Let the market dictate what it wants, and I will try and give it those things at a good price. I'm not at the head of the SF chef pack, so i am not a pioneer. I need to sell whatever I make to survive, and we all should dread finding out that despite the full remake, we once again get stuck with 8 popular dishes and a wider collection of curiosities. [note: I don't think that will be the case, but this game's taught me to be a skeptic]

So, er, cliff notes: light BAs will be stock of the day, actual in-play mileage will determine which additive type will be the most used. Heavy BAs kept for special orders only based on actual food desired, Medium BAs will not be too sought after in my kitchen.

Illienne, my suggestion would be for now, to gather stuff for all the light additives first. I will gladly buy them and start testing to see what works for what foods.

Ahh but if you'll notice, there's 1 main anomoly in the pricing. Medium quantity tissue, is only slightly more than light, by my calculation. So I don't think it would make much sense using the light version, unless the food could only take light.

But yeah, the more I look at it, it's really a food-by-food analysis of what it's used for and the best way to enhance it. And as someone else said, buffing 1 attribute sort of negates the need to buff another. Maybe I'll start looking at the foods 1 by 1 and deciding what I think would be the addititve I'd like to see, and then when it goes live, you, Vayde and Ican sit down and fiddle.
