Thread: So how will 30min change the foodmarket?

I don't see any problem, I will probably just reduce the buff time and increase the buff amount and decrease the filling on anything I make. I allready have a macro on my alt (tk/doc) that has him drinking brandy I picked up from a friend (high quality, low fill, low time) so that I am drinking one brandy every 15 minutes and keeping the full buff going at all times. That makes it very easy to keep up healing at speed for a doc, and mind level for unarmedhit2 for tk. If everyone starts lowering duration they will see an increased request for high buff and low fill. I don't see much problem selling the current stock though while waiting for the update to come.

I've been on a downtime anyway, so this is maybe why i'm not as hostile to the new changes, having very little stock atm.

But i will defo be gearing my imminent restock with the 30m empty in mind.

But like all things time will tell.

I do think it'll be really interesting to see which way the masses lean. Whether staying with the long duration or wanting 30 minute brandy with a higher buff and lower fill. I'm pretty sure the second one will win out, but it may take a while for people to make the switch.

Vercupti and Breath of Heaven will still not be non-stop... but the other HAM buffs will now.




Besides that, I also have an annoying sig that looks like part of the post.

I bet that the longer duration duration foods will still own in pvp as you can pop all the foods and drinks, go get your entertainer buffs, then your doctor buffs, and you are now ready to take a whole new set of foods and drinks with about 15 minutes or more to spare on most things. Definately the chefs will be busy either way since more foods and drinks will be consumed and there will a bigger demandon the previously neglected foods such as vayerbok and all the def. foods.

I am completely confused by this up coming change!


So should i start making foods with a lower timer in favour of a higher buff????


IE: ahrisa.....usually i make it 415/48m/33fill


but i should now conisder longer buff/lower timer/lower fill something like +430/45m/28fill or something like that????

If we start lowering the filling on our brandy instead of adding to the duration, there may very well be a bigger market for things like Ithorian Mist or Deuterium Pyro. I know I'm cooking up some +446, 44 filling brandy and some +18, 12 filling pyro for my Jebi


Essentially this changes just about everything we make.

I think for the most part your just going to be seeing people triple-dose Brandy now, so your existing 45min Brandy will still be fine, and other drinks will still be rare sellers.

The major differences I see:
triple-dosing Brandy means needing less Ahrisa. More room for other Foods.

well... it's gonna be fun to use my Spiced Tea now....

+80 mind, 59 minutes duration at 8% fill... DAMN i'll be able to stack insanely.


Personally, i think i'm gonna start fumbling with the medium foods. Pikatta pie and all those... that is floating around the 20-25 minutes duration currently. Gonna squeeze them to 30 minutes to fit the new digestion rate.

I'm gonna keep my brandy (+400, 52:00, 50% and +443, 44:00, 50%) and Ahrisa (+400, 51:00, 33%) at where it is... simply because it'll allow more stacking. And the extra duration gives much more than a few extra points in power.

I'm thinking of making Canape having 10 minutes duration at 33% filling as solution, because then people can use a single canape without having "leftover" filling when the buff wears off.

It of course depends on what other foods they eat and such, but if the other foods are around 30 minutes in duration... it's gonna be good.

I thought they were changing the QA process, so anything on there right now can go live seperate to the rest? As in when its ready it goes up.

Unless i misunderstood.

I suppose it could come out earlier, but I think they try to avoid that unless it's a hotfix to a major issue (like the Village Phase 4 gating that was hotfixed last week).


Let me ask this: if the 30m digestion fix could go Live tomorrow, would you want it to? For myself, I'd actually prefer a little more time to re-think my food experimentation and let my current stock sell down a bit, in case I need to re-do them. I think Brandy should actually be ok, since 45m / 50 Fill is a goodbreakpoint that gets you either a constant 3-brandy buff (drink one every 15m) or a more limited 4-brandy buff for a 15m period of time (drink 2, then 30m later drink 2 more).
