hrmm well I may be the mcdonalds drive thru girl...but it appears Im the only one that uses vendors truely for what they are *laugh* The only time I have ever stored items on vendors was when I was moving...and that was for a 2 day period. Of course the end result of this is I have 6 houses not counting my shops.

The thing with the bags...well I lost a *lot* of inventory doing that once before. It took a month to get reimbursed in credits of the value of the resourcesthat I used (at 3cpu ofcourse). I dontneed that headache again. In addition to that, I dont want to type out stats of rsychates and bohs..Im proud of the stats, I want them to show...not to mention then my customer is limited to what *I* think are good combos. I could probably put up packs of 5 crates of fishak and be safe tho *laugh*

Yeah, I'd have to either ultra-specialize in two or three things, or stick to crates and stop carrying singles, or both. Ugh.

I think the 150 item cap would cause more problems than it would solve. As people pointed out, it favors some professions over others, not to mention creating problems for merchants who don't play every day. Moreover, the reasonsgiven for having a price capdon't ring true to me. Thunderheart stated that the lack of a vendor cap"causes technical issues, encourages monopolies and actually hurts sales." With the exception of the "technical issues," where are they getting this information?Neither claim seems consistent withwhat I've observed. If they were researching markets within theplayer economy andmonitoring the sales figures of vendors above and below the 150 item cap, I might see this differently. However, I suspect these claims are speculation, and the core reason is the database issues. It seems sort of disingenuous to use "improving the player economy" as a rationale for a vendor cap, if that is so.

This is not a flame - just noting something that I find really irritating on these boards (and internet discussion in general). This is not an _outrage_. Genocide is an outrage, corporate corruption is an outrage. This is possibly a mistake: a mistake in a videogame costing users the equivalent of 3 chicken nugget value meals per month.

I really find the depth of people's anger about little mistakes in this game ... baffling.

Not to mention, something that is still up for discussion and NOT set in stone is definitely NOT an outrage by any stretch of the imagination.

I think It's technical reasons only. I've noticedcrashes in the vendor/bazaars lately -- well really since launch date. I think they're just trying to keep their database smaller to avoid crashes.

I don't think this isn't the first time they've tried to impose limits on vendors, IIRC. I seem to remember a similar thread several months ago, where there was a proposal to limit vendors to 150 items (maybe it was even implemented for a day or two?) .... until everyone screamed about it.

Do any other "oldtimers" remember this?

I remember it.

If they want to alleviate their DB issues...aside from coding issues, there are so many other things they could do to improve it.

1) Do not allow people to keep vendors after dropping merchant.

2) Send us daily reports from our vendors (or give us this option) from 1400 emails a week to 7 would be my change.

3) Stop having factories send out 2 messages every time they shut off. One email is sufficient...really.

4) Allow same serial # items to all be listed as a "lot" and allow you to put in a price per stack and price per crate and let people purchase how much they want from the "lot" this means data would have to be saved 1 time and updated as sold rather than 40 times and updated 40 times.

5) Increase crate contents on components. Seriously...80 crates to make a factory run? Whats the point.

6) Decrease storeroom time on vendors to 7 days to help discourage people from using it for storage (pretty sure this got bumped to 30 days when sale time got bumped up..at least is *says* 30 days in there now). Make it so that items listed for sale on the vendors and then immediately moved to the storeroom auto-download back to your inventory.

Thats just off the top of my head. Im sure there are a zillion other things that could be done too instead bringing out the gigantic sized well used nerf bat.

I just wish merchants had the ability to add background music to their shop.

It's not 150 items listed, it's an actual 150 items (so a crate of 25 items = 25 items per crate). So you could only have 6 crates of 25 (or 3 crates of 50 items) on a vendor from what I have read.

25 item crate = 1 item

You can put up 25 crates of pet food up on the bazaar. For that matter, a full backpack on a vendor also counts as 1 item.
