The odd thing is that 100k/crate for BE Bivoli seems like an exceptionally kind price...

And that must mean that our doc population is exceptionally retarded.

I did a run and sold for 125k a crate. It was my best seller. But since this is getting nerf soon, so to speak, it won't be worthwhile. The stuff is just insanely expensive to make and I can make more useful products for cheaper that will sell at the same amount.

It allows you to go over the cap - food enhancement and attachment/BE clothing enhancement are two seperate things.

The Devs have apparently stated that since food is temporary, it can go over the softcap. I'm curious myself about the defensive hardcaps the devs mentioned in Publish 7 and if the food is therefore hardcapped(and pretty useless to serious combat templates).

Yes, you can go over the cap with Bivoli Tempari. With the current system, that raises your average buff (as well as your maximum), but it also makes your buffs more erratic by increasing the range over which you can buff.

Food effects the actual skill, not the bonus. For example, let's say that a doctor has 100 in wound treatment skills and a +25 wound treatment shirt. Under his skill levels, it would look like this: 100/+125.

When you eat Bivoli that is +25, it adds to the base skill. So it would look like this: 125/+150.

Just for the record, all the developers stated was that food can increase things beyond the +25 cap. It is my theory that they allowed this because food is temporary...but a developer has never said it.

Minor point.

Thanks SirVimes. I wasn't completely sure and didn't want to state it as fact so I put apparently in there. Looks like it was a good call . Have we heard anything from the devs as to what effects melee/ranged defense, defense vs. kd/dizzy/stun/etc foods/drinks will have on the hardcap? I'm thinking that with them stating it as a hardcap that even we won't be able to buff above a certain point. If that's the caseI think most of the new foods will be pretty useless since most people who will want buffs to those areas will most likely have close to the max anyway . Correspondent issue?

BTW, what's happening with the correspondent position? I would volunteer for it, but realistically I probably don't have the time and wouldn't be as patient with holochefs invading the forums . Has SciGuyCo said he's up for it?

It's a simple law of supply and demand. Price it how you want. 100K is a bit much for me so I won't buy it.

If you price it for 100K and it just sits there you'll lower prices. If it flies off the shelf somebody doesn't mind paying that much so keep selling. If someone comes in and undercuts you then you'll have to deal with that but price it however you want. The person on the other end either pay's or they don't. It's a practice we docs have been doing for a very long time. We charge for buffs. The person either pays or they don't get buffed. We charge for stims. A person either pays for the stim or they don't. It's simple.

Why do people make such a big deal over these things?

Besides with all the complaining in the doc forums over rude customers for buffs you'd think we'd learn a bit more tact when dealing with other artisans who's products are in demand.

OR maybe they shouldpass the cost onto their customers.. you know the ones that pay them... and me... 6kto buff them.

I hate it when people whine about "the cost of this and the cost of that.. blah..blah..blah..."

ps// I must be in a bad mood today.

6k to buff????? LOL...what server is that. On Bloodfin it is anywhere from 10-20k to get a full set of buffs.
