Somebody on our server made a similar crate and stated his running costs were almost $200K to make per crate! How much did it cost you (minus labour, just resource costs) to make it per crate?

Ask him what he smokes - I want some.

Taking 5cpu as the basis for the materials required to make casks and thedrink itself +300 credits for two units of Trim (which is high) the basic Vasarian Brandy costs a whooping 33750 credits per crate. To reach 200k he would have had to pay 6650 credits per medium additive (35 organic, 25 flora, 20 meat - should end up at roughly 500 if you take 5/10cpu in materials, 1k if the BE takes 100% on top of it). Who's trying to rip off his customers here?

Sheesh... do your math people.

Should've put 1 experimentation point into quantity. You could have gotten a 21 stack.

This sounds like great news. I can see my guy now, coked to his eyeballs on muon, drunk on brandy, pumped full of his own doctor pharmaceuticals.

Whatcha charging for that? I'm on the same server and I'm trying to keep price comparable without under/overcutting anyone.

This just shows how difficult pricing is going to be. Just sitting here thinking, without a formula I was like

300 per dose no BE

400 for Medium BE

500 for heavy BE

Then I did the math. hehe. I don't think I could charge someone that much, but then again, they won't be coming back for a long while. In his example, 400*18=7200 per stack 7200*25(case)=180K. Old fishak would go for 400 credits per a charge easy. If someone looked at the product as well, they would see they were getting 450 buffs/charges which is damn nice.

PS. I don't have any formula that I use. This was just crazy talk. I always "borrow" someone else's from here. hehe.

I decided on a .5 cpbu (credit per buff unit)price for the total buff with stat buff's when sold by the crate. (rounded up)

+230 M/F/W, 10 charges/bundle, 25 bundles/crate comes out to 172500 total buffing combining M/F/W, thus my selling price of 90k/crate.

I havent decided on a price for the skill buff's yet.

Formula's screw that. Im looking at it like this. People were willing to buy Glucose on my server anywhere from 100-130K with out hesitation.

Now glucose buffed about 430 mind and focus, it lasted about 7 min and had 4 charges per unit so a crate had 100 uses. Now we are looking at brandy here which basically needsmore resourcesand more components. The buff is a lil less but lasts 5 times as long and buffs willpower aswell now. Also your getting 21 charges per unit so thats 525 uses per crate which is 5 times more then glucose. A crate of this stuff could literally last you a month. All this in mind im looking at anywhere from 300-400K a crate or 12-15K a stack in the normal market. If you agree or not keep in mind this is gonna make for alot less buying seeing as a crate will last so long.

Hope that answers your question fellow Starsider.

I've been giving this some thought on the price of Vasarian Brandy. I am doing it from a buff pricing schedule rather than a resource one. ~ +400, 50% filling, 40 minutes, 18 uses (cask) is what I am looking at making, give or take a few points/minutes depending on resources/experiment. First to get the good buff, you need to take two. Standard buff time is 2 hours, so 3 uses, 2 shots per use to get a full buff for 2 hours. The standard doctor buff is 6-10k, entertainer is free to 10k. This is a take it anywhere, no waiting buff, so I figure 4k per two hour buff, which takes 6 shots total, or 3 buffs per cask of brandy. Hope my math can be followed here.

So the price per cask would be 12k each or 300k per crate of 25. The thing to keep in mind here is that this buff is by far better than the old stuff that needed to be took once every 5-10 minutes. That old crate of 25, 9 uses may have only been 75k, but was only 2250 minutes (BoH). The new stuff goes for 9000 minutes or ruffly worth 4 crates of the old stuff at 75k. That comes out to 300k or what it use to cost.

I planning on doing crates of 5 on the vendor, or 15 two hour buffs for 60k. That is cheaper than the old fishak or BoH going for 75k each and about the same amount of buff time. 300k a pop is a lot to pay up front, but that is 75 buffs or 150 hours or over 6 days of being buffed. So a full crate of 25 is a lot. Even a power gamer would take 2 - 3 weeks go through a whole crate. A normal player may be set for a couple of months with a crate.

What most people don't understand is the duration on the food makes it far far more valuable than the old stuff. A crate of 5 is now the same as a crate of 25. The stacks are bigger so keep that in mind. The problem here is if people sale the crates at the old prices yet crates offer 5 times the value, your volume will drop. Do not cut yourselves short on the new food. It is worth a lot. Do not go by a CPU cost either. Sale it at a value cost. If I use X it will help me earn Y amount of money therefore X is worth a percent value of Y.

Wow, speaking as a Master Rifleman, that stuff sounds absolutely awesome. I'm a muon freak and have been waiting for something like this for a looooong time, as it's entirely too difficult to get Entertainer mind buffs when I need them.

As for price... I'd be willing to pay anywhere between 500-700 credits per charge.

I figure I pay anywhere between 10k-14k for a crate of Muon (not the best prices, I know, but it's what I usually pay), which breaks down to 560 credits per individual Muon on the high end. Since this stuff is WAAAAAY better, I'd be willing to pay more, so I would figure that650 credits per food charge is fair. This comes out to roughly 12k for an 18 charge stack, and if there are 25 in a crate (not sure if that's the case or not), that's nearly 300k per crate!

This SOUNDS pricey at first, but when you really think about all the advantages this stuff has and how long it actually lasts, it really isworth 200k-300k to the hardcore, wealthy mind-buff addict.

In short, I'd be quite happy to pay 200k for a crate of this stuff, and by all means, if anyone on Ahazi cranks out some crates of this stuff, please please please let me know! I'd gladly take them off your hands for you!

Joev is the in-game name if you want to talk price, or you can just offer them to my vendor (located in sig).

Great Resse

The deal is 300k a crate is the same price per buff/time as before. So the pricing isn't different, just a pycological difference, which is why I am going to break my crates down to 5 which is the same as the old buff food. Just people need to be educated and the chefs need to not give in to people wanting the same thing for a lot less.
