if you failed with resources, well, honestly, my gut instinct is that crafting isn't your path.

I didn't fail with resources, I made tens of millions But it's getting harder and harder to sell anything but uber minerals these days; absolutely no one on my server buys grind stuff for instance.

Thanks to all for the replies; you guys were amazingly helpful! I didn't know, for instance, that one needs a cozy relationship with a BE. Too many other helpful posts to name. I'm going to wade in, and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

In my experience chef can be lucrative. My alt is a chef, and my biggest problem is keeping my vendor stocked. I even raised my prices, and my vendor still got clobbered in one day. So, if my vendor is well stocked, which takes a considerable amount of time, I pull in 2-3 million credits a day. On the other hand, I have to go spend half of that on BE tissues.

What was most overwhelming for me when I first became a master chef was the amount, variety, and quality of resources that are required in order to make good food. Once you get past that obstacle, you should do just fine as long as you are willing to make the committment.

Good luck!

So, I'm new to the chef and was reading about needing BE, sure, ok need them to make additives, but why would you need a tailor?

. . . I know it's a noob question

You need a tailor to make Trim, a component of Casks. My Chef also has Tailor xx1x so I can make my own Trim. Each Cask requires 2 Trim.

Chef like any other elite crafter will take time for you gather a clientel and more importantly a stream of good quality supplies to make keep that clientel. having good supplies and maitainingthemis 75% of the battle. And it will definately make you money. The better variety on your vendor the more money you will make. I usuallykeep my best sellers stocked, V/brandy, Canape, arhisa, bivoli and bespin port. So if you like wheeling and dealing, farming/mining and surveying, crafting and experimenting tending harvesters and factorieschef is for you. Ihave an combat alt soat all timesI run 4 food/chem factories, 1equipment factory and 10-15 harvesters. I stay sobusy thatwhen I go hunting or PvPing with my alt innah its like being on vacation from work and even then i'm worried if my vendor has benn emptied or if the resouces shifted. talk about role play sheese!!!
