I have jedis that have standing orders with me. They want the absolute best buff they can get. 1) They dont all have docs in their pockets 2) they cant always find a doc 3) with perma death it was very important to be as buff as you can be. Yea doc buffs are good if you can get them. But I can buff +1000 to stats as well and that buff can be taken at any time, even when caught by surprise. In addition, thats 1000 (or more in many cases) on top of the docs buff. At this point as a Jedi, you do not want to die. Death = very bad. Buffing to the max is therefore very important. Flameout alone is 1600 health (and can be used still with other things or to counter pixie downer if an emergency called for pixie)... if you think that chef buffs cant make a big difference you are seriously mistaken. However after our glorious revamp, you may be closer to right.

Now that permadeath is being removed it may not be so urgent...but the result of death will still be big exp loss, so even then I suspect that buffing would be chosen over14 rounds of 4% exp. I dont know what type experience a jedi gets in combat but lets say he gets 1000 exp per fight. 4% of that is 40 exp. Now if I assume the jedi doesnt switch weapons, fight some newb mob that attacked him as he ran past or do things like harvest (can jedi even chose stuff other than jedi skills?I have no foggy). 14 rounds of 4% equals 560 exp. Thats 1/2 of the exp of one fight. In the time period of an hour. The rate at which you can fight with good buffs means you can fight quite a few extra rounds in an hour. Extra rounds = 1000 exp each.

So even if I was only able to gain one extra fight per hour based on buffs, thats double the exp I could obtain by using the exp mod food which is limited to once an hour.

Im a bit short on ideas on what food anyone would want under the new system *sigh* I see 4-5 items that *may* hold some promise. Other than that...I see well garbage. And someone mentioned about the pet food elsewhere. Yes, Im extremely disgusted that the best food Ill be able to make is petfood. Great Im a glorified pet food maker for real now. That used to be a joke. Now its true. I can see the ad bark now, "Hi Mr. Hungry Zabrak, we dont have much to interest you but if you happen to have pets we have several choices that might please his palate."
