Unless you're trying to milk nightsisters or rancors, all you REALLY need is scout 2/0/0/0 to milk. Pikets are good for this, as are sharnaffs and fambaa. I imagine brackasets and malklocs are the champs of milking now as they're level 65 and level 75 respectively, and both non-aggro so if your MS breaks, you just have to reapply to milk again, not plan your own funeral.
Scout harvest and ranger skills are irrelevant to milk yield, and veghash seems to be as well. As a 4/0/4/0 scout I've outmilked a master ranger on side by side pikets.
i made the organic recycler not long after they were released from camping spawns to get the needed parts (a real pain i can tell you).
Basically what it does:
i use it for milk only as if you use it it turns all the stats into 200/200/200/200.
But lets say i have 7 stacks of milk for instance, all differently named and all from different planets, 7 10k stacks for example. I put all 7 stacks through the recycler and i now have 70k of "homogenesized milk" the same thing except now its all the one name and i have a 70k stack of it.
The recycler is just fantastic for milk, for the milk alone it is my gold and would never sell it
(although if your on chimaera i usually carry it with me incase you need milk stacks crushed into 1 stack, ill do it happily for free if im not busy, IGN below)
wow thats coolness. Been playing for 2 years and didnt know that. How does one acquire the parts. who makes them??? i want one

The schematic is dropped by NPCs and so are the components for them. Currently crafting them is bugged however, it is a known bug you can see in the in-game holocron section.
Finding the components usually means paying alot of money or killing weak NPCs all day. If you do manage to get all the pieces, do not craft it until the fix the bug with it.
A thread about milking, in the chef forum and people are talking about scout and ranger templates?!!!!!
Jawa Beer FTW, its cheap, easy to make, low filling, lasts much longer than mask scent and you can apply it while riding ur mount.
I always got some in my pack and use it when visiting harvs and factories as well as when milking.
