Thread: Chef listing of foods stats and why mastering chef is currently not worth it.
ReblSoldier that is my Exact reasoning itsnice i thought i was crazy by thinking that. Come on32k*4 + 44k*4 + 57k*4 + 70k*4 food xp from 178xp per itemfor semi mediocre buffs and smugglers have about the easiest time with spices granted they have a downer and a much better buff.
We need to be the buffing class plain and simple and right now we are ok but buffs too short not powerful enough. There is still a demand and like i said before if you increase both duration and effectiveness we would gain more business because higher lvl ppl would love our quickness buffs(Mostly pisoleers in game).
I try to think logically and this is the only thing that makes sense to me. Sole purpose to Buff = Best buffs, buff/heal = med buffs, buff/fight = low buffs
You cant tell me this doesnt make sense, smugglers make just as much money as we do which negates the argument we are a business class.
Linchpin, you spent a lot of time compiling this list and you should be commended for it.
As Thymaster mentioned though, you can get much higher stats/duration by Experimenting.
As soon as I got Mixology 2 I went for Experimentation and took it all the way up to 4. I'm really amazed how much better my final product is!!! And now the food I'mmaking in my current line, Entrees, already has great stats right from the start.
I'm glad you listed these foods the way you did though, because itnicely illustrates the progression of foods in each stat category. I have the printout from thehegemon.com/chef.htm site which is a helpful resource, and yourlist complements that nicely.
ummm...
no offense to the original poster, but he/she didn't put ANY time into making this list, other than the time that it took to copy and paste it from Optimus's guide from beta. And as Optimus stated then, these are non-experimented stats with random resources, i.e. not all quality 900+ whatever resources. Also, these stats are from before the identical components issue was fixed, that's why you're seeing things like Accaragm, for example, with ridiculously low stats posted in the list. And notice the fact that wedding cake is listed with buffs, when it currently has none (they were lost in the move from beta to retail release somehow).
Just want to see credit given where credit is due. And also, I think our buff sizes really aren't that bad, especially once you hit some of the higher tier stuff. All I really would like to see is an increase in the duration (not a lot, maybe 30 minutes at master tops) and fixed factories. And I really don't know where you're finding people that don't want to buy sunburn for 1000 creds because of the duration (unless you're talking about 1k/use, which is a bit high). I'm a master chef, and even if I just sat and made sunburn full time, I'd still likely sell them out as fast as I could make them.
/soapbox off
I really disagree that having factories work and having good food to produce will flush the market and plummet prices.
First of all, it is as Ida says, there seems to bea rather limited number of dedicated Chefs out there. That, right off the bat limits the market significantly. Limited supply limits demand. If you cannot get it, you learn to do without it, the addiction is broken, however, if it is readily available...
You learn you Cannot do without it, and don't.
Secondly; There is a very great ignorance concerning Food, and the buffs they can confer. Still to this day, despite Tatooine Sunburn being on the Market for so long, and the topic of so many posts, itis virtually unknown, and less used. Agree, disagree?
Having Better food, and, having Factories work could only help, not hurt. Chefs now are often running at full capacity, and unable to keep up with the demands of their client base, and this is for a rather limited market and a one or two product market at that. If Chef Buffs improve -- value AND duration, there will have to be a much greater number of Active Chefs out there.
As a final point,
Smugglers spice is good, it has ok Times, and decent Buffs, but... for some, me as an example, the downsides of spice make it a refuge of last resorts. There is no such downside with Food. Even if it is made so that you can only drink ONE Tat Sun, and eat ONE food at a time, it will still be better than having to wait through a Spice Downer. The Downer on Spice is killer for those who hunt as I do -- Continously.
