Id also like to say....was teh designer on crack ?

Karkan Ribenes Enhance regeneration (Trandoshan only)

I'm sorry, but I cant remember actually seeing a Trandoshan player

Some buffs dont look too bad, if the filling and/or decay was lowered, like Trimpian (awaiting stats on it though).
It isn't the actual buff "type" that is putting me off. It's the size, the filling and the decay. I quite liked the seperate food & drink fillings. and my customers do to. They buy food & drink that match generally, like Angerian and Vercupti, and they are used to being able to pop them one after the other.

I can see the devs point that our buffs will be "in line" with the new HAM system, but that could be months away, and I dont see doc/dancer/musician/spice levels being reduced with ours....

Request/Suggestion:

Find out what the +survey food is meant to do. Survey tapes have been useless as they have no effect. Is there something that has changed in this publish that they have not told us about and therefore should I start stocking up on survey tapes now

Hey! I'm Trandosian. And I know a lot of other Trandosians.

Granted, this isn't something that would help everyone. But its definetly something that I would use and something i'll keep stocked on the vendor, assuming its actually any good.

We have so many different schematics, why can't there be one specific to each race that is thier favorite? What harm is there in that? I don't follow your reasoning that somehow they did a bad thing here.

Sigh, I know it doesn't matter to SOE but this revamp TOTALLY removed the best sellers for chef foods and made them junk. With this patch, I will be quitting chef. My sales totally dropped off. So I asked a few friends and they said they were scared of the upcoming chef nerf and didn't want to buy food thinking it's also broken now. GRRR.

I had played around briefly on Test Center, but decided to wait for some real testing until character copy is in. However, while there, I wrote a list of all the food and drink schematics available in domestic arts and the chef profession, to compare to my master chef on a live server. I counted 30 schematics of ours that are no longer available (atleast through normal means). That is not a revamp, that is a nerf. A nerfby any other name is still anerf. Let us keep the addition of milk, the new graphics for our foods and drinks, and everything else for the combat "revamp". Removing schematics that we've had for this long, enjoyed and created markets for, should never be an option for the Dev Team.

The recipes I found no longer in ourcookbooks:

Charde, Meatlump, Wastril Bread, Fried Endwa, Stewed Gwouch, Para Roll, Puffcake, Bantha Blaster, Sullustan Gin, Fire Stew, Puk, Nanana Twist, Cortyg, Kylessian Fruit Distillate, Tatooine Sunburn, Patot Panak, Ramorrean Capanata, Ryshcate, Wedding Cake, Aludium pu36, Antakarian Fire Dancer, Ice Blaster, Braised Canron, Xermaauc, Corellian Fried Ice Cream, Glazed Glucose Pate, Double-Dip Outer Rim Rumdrop, Skannbult Likker, Angerian Fishak Surprise, Tranna Nougat Cream.

And this is suprise? I announcedlastmonth that they would not be able to give us the same amount of schematics, but we would be recieving more through patches and expansions.

After reading the multiple posts under the Chef category, I can only say that this is the saddest state of affairs yet.

Seeing as the Devs have absolutely no intention of reading this...Vimes it's up to you to pry their heads out of their arses...

I have been a Master Chef for sometime now and thought that despite the fact that we could never craft, let alone craft in quantity, 20% of the items we could make, that the remaining items were either useless or fit a perfect niche (i.e. sunburns, BoH, and all the mind buffs). Having said that, this patch is absolutely retarded...and I mean that with all sincerity.

1. Milk - bout time but how much milk will milking a eopie produce- same as sampling resources - wow great fun...and you'll have to follow the **edit** thing around...

2. New Stat Buffs - For those of you that havent crafted Dead-Eye yet - it is meant to up accuracy 50-100% depending on experimentation...for 13-15mins - Doesn't do a **edit** thing...you dont hit any more than you used to...so all these wonderfully new buffs that dont have a meter that can be seen in either your skill mods or character sheet will undoubtably be useless...

3.General Logistics- Some longest running complaints about the Chef profession, beyond the food and drink, is the lack of space for factory crates and resources, the limited number of building lots, and the multitude of resources required to craft mutliple items. - So this was addressed by:

Addingboth glasses & barrels whichwill be in factory crates and BE additives that will also be in factory crates...did any Dev. bother to do the math on this one...ingredient hopper - 100 spaces...minus 40 crates ofPu36(or alcohol),minus 40 crates carbosyrup, minus 40 crates of Food additives, minus 40-100 crates of barrels...yeah, not to mention the fact that during factory runswe have to store the Artisan and BE crates somewhere...Absolutely brilliant.

Creating a new harvester for seafood (another resource to survey, and another lot or two for harvesting). Yeah that helps a lot...., lets just add milk into this one as well, except we'll have to stand in a herd of herbivores with a milking macro for 10 hours to get10k in milk.

So, in summary, you added more things for us to survey and harvest, a new harvester as well, along with about 100 extra factory crates to either stuff into a factory or hold in our inventory or more likely someone elses house...not to mention the gemstone and everything else we'll have to harvest for glasses & barrels and an equipment factory to produce that crap...

4. Experimentation - This is the foundation of what sets Master Chefs apart from each other, let alone all crafting professions...now this isnt even a concern... and to top it off one more stat to experiment with and no extra experimentation points...oh i see, the Devs solved that one by making experimentation pointless anyways....brilliant, why dont you just kill the Chef profession off and put up factories for people to stuff resources in....better yet you could get rid the paying real players and fill the entire game npcai's.

5. Inventory - How about getting an answer out of the devs about existing factory crates...are they going to run the patch regardless of what happens to all of our existing inventory....how bout giving every Master Chef an extra 10M and 100k of every organic with 900values across the board, before they bankrupt all of us...Rapists doesn't begin to describe this one....You guys hire some people from Enron or what?

6. BE Additives - I'm also close to Master BE and I've checked a few of the boards on this and havent seen the new schematicsor if they are going to change, it doesnt seem like that is going to happen now that milk and seafood should be readily (:smileyvery-happy available. BTW, Broad Spectrum is 70 ingredients(including seafood), Macra Pentamate is 80 (including seafood and milk). Yeah pricing this one with the new buffs is going to be really easy...

7. New HAM System - if it doesn't come with this patch, save patching chef till after it arrives...why not give the Chefs time to respond to the garbage being hurled at us. Keep the milk and the seafood coming...some of us would love to craft what we should have been able to craft all along before you throw it to the wolves...

Lastly, although it would seem that every Chef on these boards feels similarly, that fact of the matter is that Devs have already made the changes and the Patch is coming regardless of our input, we've seen it happen before and it's bound to happen again, and yes, to all of us. If you noticed the only thing they are actually interested in are the new buffs, whether or not they crafted properly, seemed to work properly, and whether or not we would use or make them. Does this have anything to do with what they are taking away from us or the new logistics that they are creating. I think its obvious that the lack of Dev involvement on this board, shows their intentions 100%, they haven't cared about Chef at all and they still don't to this date, apparently this was a patch assignment that some poor slob got stuck with for screwing up another profession. Looks like a lot of us will finally get a chef hat to hang on a hook and retire.

Yeah it's a double post - necessary, some people can't read more than one or two posts on one thread...

Not the same amount of schematics, ok. But 30? I know it's not your fault, but your answer doesn't appease me in the least. Some of those items they're removing I'll *never* be able to craft before they're gone, because of their milk requirements. If they've said they'll re-add 95-100% of those same schematics over the next few months, then great,I can wait, but I think most chefs want/need to know that bit of information.

P.S. Idon't consider new schematics a replacement for our original batch, in case that's what they were planning. That's likeripping somethingaway from a child and giving them a lollipop to shut them up.

SirVimes, my only suggestion is that the developers throw the customers a bone and reinstate one of their favorite mind drinks, for example Fishak.

Instead of seeing this as a chef revamp, my customers are now viewing this as a chef nerf, because all the mind drinks are either going away or being reduced. I explain about the change in HAM bars but since that is something in the (distant?) future it doesn't really change their attitude.

I want them to be happy about all the upcoming changes -- the new food art, ability to buff skills, the keggers but all they are focusing on are the loss of mind foods.

If they could just keep even just one thing from the old schematics, at least until the HAM bars are changed. My vote would be for Fishak.

I'm sure they would be against putting everything back in, but perhaps it wouldn't be so difficult to put one (or two hee hee) things back in, just as a good-will gesture.

Other than that, I am looking forward to the changes -- I am running a very successful player cantina as it is, and while I'm always a little afraid ofsweeping changes I think that with the tweaks that were suggested it should be a good thing overall.

It will be almost like starting a new profession, with the advantage of already being a Master at it.

As I understand it, we will get 1 more thing to experiment in and no extra experimenting points to spend? Seems a bit harsh...
Also believe that the space to keep the resources will be a problem, since it will take even more resources now. It might be a stupid idea but wouldn't it be possible to create like a fridge where you could store at least foodstuff (like crates of components and food resources) and have them count as 1 object in the house you set them in? Bit like a vendor- should really fit with something like that for a chef to have

Your first statement is correct. Apparently Chef is all about trade-offs. You can't have everything, so you have to choose a good combination of generic ingredients and experimentation that gives the best results for that particular recipe. It's very unlikely 2 factory runs will be the same.

Secondly, space is always a problem. Not just for Chefs, but for eveyone. New at the top of my list is upping the crate storage to 50. I don't think this adds any database overhead, but it would help space savings a lot.

Well, I suppose so- although I would have thought that given 2p more in experimentaion when you get a whole new branch to experiment in wouldn't have hurt But it will be interesting to see what becomes of it all - if one doesn't like it when one have tried it out then it's just to change to something you think suits you better I guess

But I still would have loved a nice little fridge (have to have somewhere to store my ice-cubes for the drinks)
