Thread: Major change to drinks

Hm. Not that I like the possibility of having to buy my drink containers from someone else (as earlier mentioned, reliability is of great importance), but what about just buying schematics, then? Made with your own resources, of course..
What would that do for you? It's not like we can't make the schematic.
I don't think so since he is a master chef. So I say againwhat good would one master chef buying schematics from another master chef do?
Sounds like a whole lot of wasted time and money not being made because you are busy waiting to get a schematic from someone else, that you could have made yourself.

2) That there is really no point in having the small glasses or large glasses and all because everybody is going to want the best, and that is kegs. One possible solution to this is give small glasses and large glasses some of their own benefits (I actually just cut and pasted some of sythlove's stuff).
From everything said so far I get the impression that the required number of resources wouldn't change between making a drink in a keg and making a drink in a glass. That being the case it would make sense that a larger container is more dilute than product of a smaller container, giving a slight lessening of the resulting buff. You wouldn't want to reduce it by too much, as you'd get the converse problem of people only buying small glasses of drink.
Also, I think it would be better to change from "glass" to "bottle" or "can (or cannister)."A glass doesn't typically have a way to seal it.

I don't think this is the idea. IT's more like advanced components for stimpacks. By using the larger container, it makes larger stacks. The effectiveness of the food remains the same.
It's like using better alcohol. Same recipe, better stats.
I love the idea. It keeps the number of the final products to a minimum, which is a step in the right direction.
Unfortunately, by reducing the number of recipes, you kill the fun for roleplayers, because you reduce the number of different drink that can be made.

Just so nobody says I didn't offer up an alternative...
What if glasses gave a bonus to power of the buff and quantity of the stack, and kegs gave a bonus to duration of the buff and quantity of the stack. Something different, but equally as desirable depending on the way a chef wants to specialize their product, or a customer's desires.
That sort of thing.
Oooohh I like this! but have one be stomach filling! LOL I assume its already a "done Deal" but if not...
How about something like:
small glass 1X servings, .75X stomach
large glass 1.5X servings 1.25X duration
cask 2X servings, 1.25X effectiveness
Keg 2X servings, 1.25X effectiveness, .75X stomach
I dunno about you but it seems I can drink a LOT more beer from a keg and it tends to affect me more ![]()

...No one is going to bother with glasses. Glasses are going to be 'cute', just like fire stew, vegeparsine, and the other schematics that are worthless but look neat sitting around or for sale on a roleplayer cantina's bartender....
Agreed with everything you said except for this.
Vegeparsine is good stuff and sells well. In fact I use it myself. 2 nibbles vegeparsine + 1 sip of BoH = every secondary buffed quite nicely. I've put a couple of cocky combat types in their place with this combo whenthey've noticed my title and challenged me to a duel. They laugh and laughat least until their incapped
(course that's the other thing about chef- it helps to be able to afford the best armor and weaponry
) I always seem to make a sale right afer the duel too... wonderwhy... ![]()
So fear the chefs people!Odds is 3-0 in lifetime dueling history And eat more vegeparsine! It does a body good! ![]()
Now if it weren't such a PITA to make sheesh...![]()
I keep dipping into this thread, but aside from the fact that nobody's panicing about the change yet, I wanna add that I think it's becoming too complicated for what it is. Just have either bottle, or keg, and be done with it. Make it so one type of premade component is needed if you're doing singles [under 8 or 10 doses per item and it looks like a bottle], and another is needed for higher [and the display item is a keg]. It almost feels like this addition is looking to make crating obsolete. Are we really looking to create food crates of drinks with >500 doses of something inside?
And definitely make this an artisan item [the containers] so we don't have to outsource if we don't wish to, please, please please.
Sell to nOOb's and make a small profit.
Sell to people who play off and on and make a better profit.
Sell to Power players and make a HUGE profit.
And this without need to experiment.
One thing I would like to ask.
If the containers will all be alike. I.E. no amount of experimenting will change them. Can we make them without serial numbers? This way a factory only needs to find a Keg to put the stuff into. Not "A Specific" keg ? This would save time and answer my only concern.
Just a thought.

What will happen to drink graphics, will they be reduced to 5 base models (glass,keg...) or will they remain and the item is just named a keg of XXX?
I'd prefer the second solution, as I would miss some of the canters, which make nice decoration, like Sunburn/T'ssilok, the Fire Dancer or Blue Milk (when we finally get it)/BoH or finally the famous Aludium.
As well diferent graphics help custumers to find the product they wish to consume in their inventory faster, especially on the hotkey.

When you create a drink, you put the container component into the drink, not the drink into container. The graphics will be the same as always (although I heard rumors that there will be new graphics as well)
I actually think it would be good the other way around:
Component drink = 1 use
1 Component drink into glass = 2-5 uses
2 Components into Large Glass = 10-18 uses
3 Components into Cask = 20-30 uses
4 Components into Keg = 40-50 uses
Of course, the graphics would have to be the component graphics, not the container graphics, so that might cause technical difficulties.
