Ok, Im a Novice Chef training in Mixology, and I'm running really low on cash. I don't know what items that I can make that can earn me cash. Im constintly surveying for rescources because I can't afford good harvestors or energy to run them. Can someone please tell me what foods a novice chef can make that sells, and also whats the good ing to make them with? Yeah, I've already read the Chef FAQ, so please don't tell me to read that. Thnx....

Nothing is really going to sell for more than pet food until you hit mixology2 with Tatooine Sunburn.

Otherwise, you will have to finance your Chef grind with missions or selling holocrons.

Well if it is cash you seek, the easiest way is to take Artisan Survey missions for a particular resource type available at another shuttle port on the planet you most frequent. With a rinse/repeat ratio you can pull between 10-15k an hour depending on your luck sorting at the mission terminals and lag at the shuttleports.

Depends alot on your resources. It sounds like you want a foolproof guide to making money, but unfortunately, there isn't one.

Trial and error are your friend.

For pet food, the stats are irrelevant, just make something that is cheap and experiment the stacks as high as you can.

But, per my previous post, you will find it very difficult to make a living selling food until you hit master.

A note on missions. Go to Tyrena on Corellia and take missions to Vreni Island. Take 2 each time. While waiting on the shuttle, either harvest resources or grind. You can make a lot of money this way.

Some suggestions:

1. Join a guild - it takes away some of your freedom, but it will help you with cash and resources, and maybe you'd meet some friends along the way. Just make sure they don't plan on making you their craft monkey.

2. Collect resources on contract from another crafter - A lot of crafters don't want to bother with identifying, surveying, and pulling resources. If you set up a contract with some WS or AS, they would probably give you rate 13 heavies (mineral though ) to pull resources for them, and offer a decent cpu for your time.

3. Find a master to apprentice under - The perfect senario set up from Sony, it's unlikely but it's worth a shot. Some mass producing chefs don't want to bother producing soypro/carbosyrup/dough, and you can do 1000 crate runs for them...the only problem being that your experimentation is a little low for soypro, but once you get cooking IV it should be viable.

4. Sell powerups - You can make them out of the engineering 1 and 2 line, and they always sell. 10 resources per powerup, and probably a good profit margin. Other artisan items that sell include jawa beer and starshine surprises. Novices can also sell Charde, which should be marketable.

Hope this helps...

Depends on your quality and your server...do a galaxy wide bazaar search on drinks, that should give you your answers. Or visit local chefs on the server.

Wormguy,

I'm not trying to be rude here, but I find it hard to believe you have read the FAQ with the questions you are asking.

In the FAQ there is a question specifically describing experimentation and how it works.
