Does higher Food Assembly help with gaining more amazing successes or is it just to help prevent failure?

I thought it helped you gain an amazing success on combine, and consequently less crit fails on assembly.

When you go to assemble the food

As I understand it the mod does both. It all revolves around the assembly roll you get in a range of possible outcomes.
As your mod increases the range for each different kind of assembly.
So at the beginning for example the range might be 1-100. If you roll 1-20 you get a crit failure, 21-40 you get a small failure, 41-60, fair assembly, 61-80 good assembly, 81-100 excellent assembly. (Just an example!)
Then as your mod increases the ranges would change so it would be easier to get good assemblies. Something like 1-15, 16-35, 36-60, 61-80, 81-100.
...
Well my numbers are off, but what I was trying to say is that the two outcomes, amazing success and crit failure are directly related, the higher the mod larger the range will be for successes, and the less it'll be for failures.

nope not unless its cheap they arn't worth buying. All it is gonna do is help when you go to assemble the food, it won't help on your experimentations.

Only people who deal with very expencive loot components need assembly. For a chef a crit fail costs maybe 2k tops. A weapon smith however could lose millions if they get a crit fail on a krayt weapon.

I have +29 Food Assembly, but I'm not sure it makes a dramatic difference. I may get an amazing success every other two food crafting sessions, but it's not like I get two amazing sucess in one sitting. I suppose that if I don't drink Bespin, I won't have as many critical failures as when I didn't have the assembly points.
Any thoughts?

Well first off the +29 is really +25. That's where it's capped.
And Assembly does nothing for experimentation really. Assembly is only the first roll. Right after you input all your resources and hit assemble, before you can select Experimenting. THis is where this mod has an affect. For a Chef, assembly trully isn't really that important. Weaponsmiths are the one needing experimenting since they might use millions of dollars worth of Krayt or something on a single item. You don't want to lose that due to a Crafting Failure.
What's going to get you more Amazing Success is Bespin Port and Experimenting in a City with the City Specialization of "Research Center"

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that for weaponsmith, crafting smart is critical as to not loose the valuables in producing a weapon.
For chef, I think getting amazing successes helps in boosting a food stat up to 10 points of stat. So, it helps getting full use of the resources and helps in combat. That's my whole motivation in getting the assembly tapes and drinking the Bespin.
