Thread: Your thoughts on Thak

Hello fellow chefs,

Well just posted a poll on my server on this and want too see what you guys the experts think, and if any of you have tried it.

Well, I have always thought that 100 KD thak was a little overkill and the filling being 44(or around their) I never use it much. So I've been thinking about 35 fill/ 80 Kd Thak.

With a 35 fill Thak you could eat a Trimpian or Aircake and still have half your stomach left for the 25 fill foods and still have a major boost in KD defense.

Any advice on what you guys think about this is much appreciated.

Thanks,

SOKEE

I think it is like most foods, the best is not what people want. I would bet that 80 thak is about as effective as 100, I never tested this though. I think thak is just one of those things that people always look for 100 on. There are a lot of foods that people seem to prefer a version that I don't think is the best, but its what sells. As for personal use, I think I would prefer the 35 fill thak, but as I said I think the 100 would sell a lot better.

I dont know I'm just taking a whole different look at foods, from a pvp perspective and jedi perspective.

I try and make my foods stackable, so I will give up some dmg reduction on my steak to get the 25 fill, so instead of 27 fill 46%, I make 25 fill 44%. Same with aricake, pikatta, trimpian or anything else u can think of. I shoot for 25/15/10 if possible on those pvp foods.

Im even thinking of testing a filling additive thak, 35-40 kd def with 25 fill, see how that works out.

And im not worried about being bought up, its all about informing your customers, I mean look at ahrisa. Hardly anyone on my server knew about it 2 months ago, now its a top 3 seller.

everything that i sell, normally, is BE. but, i did a nonBE run of thakitillosince i'd gotten SO many requests for a lower filling thakitillo from PVPrs. it comes out at 35 filling,+34 KDdefense, 12m54s duration, and it sells pretty fast. when folks ask about it i say that it's the thakitillo for those that hardly need it, for folks with high KD defense in their template already.

i set myself a goal of a 33 filling thakitillo, and watched for fungus with high DR. i got it down to 34, which at first frustrated me since it wasn't 33. then, i realized 34 is fine as the magic number for thak, since you can't stack it with itself. so, a 34 fill thakitillo DOES fit with a combo of 2 33 fill ahrisas or canapes. so, now i sell a 34 filling, +73 KD defense, 12m54s duration thak, and it goes slow but steady, about the same sales as ithorian mist and parwan nutricake. i didn't push it to 80, like you're thinking of, just because inormally prefer duration over a few more points in most everything. that's part of the fun of chef, making the choices like that and seeing if the hungry folks think you made the right choice

i have a run of 'old-fashioned' thak in the oven. i made the schematic last night, the first experiments turned out at +101 KD defense and 45 filling. i played with it enough to get it to 42 filling, +95 KD defense, and the duration i think was a bit over 13 minutes.

Thanks for your input, also see in your sig thatyou make 25 burnout, that gives me hope as I have not seen 25 on flurry.

Mine is currently 24.7 I think, maybe a better additive can pump it up their.... hmmm

Thats the only way to sell it if you ask me. Most players in the current form of the game are near KD def capped anyway. 40 points will get them to cap at much less expense to the tummy.

i think i used 118s to get the +25? and some *very* nice class 4 petro. we've since had an even better class 4 spawn, that i'll try using in my next batch. i know the duration is 18 minutes on my +25. my server is stuck in loading phase tho, so i can't reference the filling, i can only get stats that i used in the food name by reading saved emails lol.

You could have 200 def vs. kd thak at 1 filling, and if you are dizzy, you still go down in under 4 attempt's..

Thus it is really worthless, but shhh, don't tell anyone, I love people paying me 100k/crate for something that is useless..
