This is an idea to make the chef a more desirable class for other players to use.

Also this idea is going towards "should food be required" arguement .. its the best of both worlds please read and hope I make sence .. we all know im not good at making much of that

Basicly a chef could gain extra exp making meals , they would not effect your food bar. They would how ever buff your characters exp gain rate let me explain.

The Meal would use a animation , no tangible object will be place from your invantory to theres , it would use a "meal ticket" you must craft.

The meal tickets will come from the chef skill tree "cooking" each one would require slightly more resources to make and only have Quantity for experimentated properties.

the "meal" would not be required to heal you or anything but as long as your character has a meal every hour or two he/she gains a exp bonus

it would be based on there cooking skill level

novice chef 5% exp bonus meals

Cooking 1 10% exp bonus meals

Cooking 2 15% exp bonus meals

Cooking 3 20% exp bonus meals

Cooking 4 25% exp bonus meals

Master Chef 30% exp bonus meals

Now , this is how a meal would work in actual practice

Meal Can only be Served in a Hotel , making this structure useful (sence no one uses them for cantinas) You must target the character and be withen 50range of them the target must be sitting at a table to be served a meal *using the chairs in the hotel*

Once you target the sitting player if you have a Meal Ticket in your backpack it will give you the option to "serve"

If you select serve it will use the best meal in your pack , and target player will recive a msg that said

"Chefy Chef would like to serve you a Fried Eggs and Ham meal this will give youa 20% expierance bonuns for 1 hour and 35 mins do you exept the meal?"

Then they could select yes or no incase they want a beter meal then that..

once they select yes there character would nod and the chef character would use the "hungry" emote.

then a little timer bar would appear on there screen which lasted 40 seconds (like a incapacitation timer) that reads "consuming your meal"

they could cancle this bar by moving which will destroy the meal and need to do it over again.

When the buff wore off of there character a mesage will be anounced to the player

"its been awhile sence your last well balanced meal."

This would be a Free service that chef could only expet tips for but not actually charge in the trade window for like Medical classes wound healing

Not only does this allow people to roleplay a chef in a restraunt it adds a suport class feature to them with out making it a requirement.

Anyone that played UO would have used food because it made you gain skills faster why you didnt need to eat it it did help skill gain so people usualy did ..

So a run down what this adds to the chef Profesion

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

new and diferent way to gain exp besides crafting.

something new that chef can provide that would be a buff but not required unless a player wanted to have it.

a place for chef to roleplay the role of a bartender or a cook and be doing something useful not waisting there time.

more content which is never a bad thing.

you obviously must have put a lot of thought into this and it would be great if it were in the game already.

im sure the devs have more important things to take care of but i like your use of the unused hotel. im all about anything that will help us to roleplay

it makes alot of sence too me...

Also I think many people not just me view themselves as a chef a suport class before a crafter, and this would help make that more of a reality..

I would also think everyone would love the new way to gain exp ...

Sencee unlike all other crafters we get shafted for only 20% user exp when they get 150% we could get exp from this to balance that out some..

I think this would help everyone in the game because a exp bonus is always nice

I also think it would help the casual player more then the powergamer sence most the time the casual gamer is just doing missions around a starting town where a chef is more likely to be where a power gamer is somewhere were a super exp monsters is spawning.

Master Chef 30% exp bonus meals

Uhm....If I'm getting you're idea right....why would a master chef need more chef xp?

no you misunderstood

That would be how much the master chefs meal buffed the players exp gain ..

When you are given a meal you gain more exp per task for how ever long it lasts im guesing they would last about an hour and a half.

so a novice chefs meal will give you a 5% exp gain for 1 and a half hours.

A master chefs meal will give you a 35% exp gain for 1 and a half hours

Ahhh....but why give other people that extra xp when we could horde it all and become superior xp beings!

well I gues that could be a problem.

self induced meals would wield a 50% exp bonus so a chef is beter not cooking for themselves!

This would be fun. Really would set us chefs up for many roleplay options.

Well, Greggbrain, it can work like UXP. You don't get the bonus if you use it yourself. Now that I think about it, from the original post, you couldn't actually use it yourself.
