Hi Higginsis,
can u please pass to the devs, that regen food is STILL broken and needs a fix asap ?
According to this thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=chef&message.id=59369&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
(Sorry, no clicky)
it is still broken.
We made some tests today with Bofa, Canape, Ahrisa, Brandy, Spiced Tea blablabla, all regen modifiers are not doing anything really.
Im not talking about a 2sec faster reload, that is more lag caused and imprecice stopwatch hitting
Food with a +200 regen modifier SHOULD do something REMARKABLE, 46s and 48s are NOT remarkable=Useless=harming chef prof.
It would be nice buddy, if you could pass this SERIOUS issue to the Devs.
Tnx !

Are you here Higginsis bud ?
/bump
PS.:
Action regenration seems to be speeded up basically.
Mind is AGAIN (/sigh) a problem these days, since heals are feeded by mind.
SoE said "mind is not attackable anymore", to balance the game.
This is effectivly untrue:
There is a "new fashion" out there, templates causing you to DRAIN your mind (heals eg.), then finish off.
It IS "attacking" the mind, if i stick my wep in your head (active attack) or let YOU do "my" work (passive attack).
Mind regen food is broken like health and action regen is too.
Mind is generally not adjusted to the basic actionregenrationrate.
Anyway, it needs to be looked up.
Im waiting for the day where emotes cost action/mind
(/bow = 10% action....)

i might be going out on a limb here, but he may be ignoring this thread because it's kind of based on nothing but rumors. i personally use accarragm almost every time i fight and if i forget it at first, i remember when my action starts draining like crazy. it's been a while since i've timed it with a stopwatch but just by fighting with regen foods and spices i can pretty safely say they're working.

This is no rumour, we tested it a zillion times over and over again.
It is confirmed by others multiple times.
We left the "rumour" state, we have hard numbers.

Even without testing actual food I would assume it's broken. Sales on all regen food for me has gone down to near 0 in the last couple of weeks. I thought at first it had to do with competition or something, but the players know what works and what doesn't so I assume: food doesn't work=stop buying food. So the question is. If regen is indeed broken what chef food does work as intended?

I've heard it several times myself that the regen food is close to useless (at least some). I haven't see Higgs ingame for 2 days maybe he has some days off

I wonder if buffs are playing into this rumor. I believe the doc buffs actually increase the action and mind pools. Perhaps the foods are somehow adding to the pool as well. There by making it look like the regen time is the same with and without the food.

I don't think Higginis is ignoring the thread; he read it but basically its the same kind of thread since the food-stacking "bug" was fixed in Publish 21.
"Food-Stacking Needs Fixed Thread" times XX where XX is the numbers of threads which people put in this forum that foods aren't stacking like they would like it to stack.
He mentioned earlier that the Dev's are aware of the issues and they are working on the problem, whatever that means.

OK, I did my own test. It brought me to the conclusion that these things aren't broken and doing nothing. They do increase your regen rate. The problem is that they increase it by about half as much as they're supposed to.A 20% spice or +200 drink will increase your regen rate by about 10% instead of 20%.
In my test I did at least 6 runs to test how long it would take to regenerate 20% of my action. If after 6 trials one result was very different than the others, I eliminated that run and tested it again.

Those are some good numbers, thanks. Maybe food is getting confused with buffs and getting the low cap?

You might wanna repeat this test with 100% regeneration (like we did) to exterminate the influence of serverlag and inaccurate stopwatchoperations.
1 second difference in regen is a GOOD chance to be based on serverlag or other parameters.
Spice is no food, spice is working like said.
Food is the problem, and then only the regen effect. Healthbuff (increasing helath) is working, but REGEN is not.
When we did the test with 100% regen and had a number like 115 seconds, the other time 121s, both tests without buffs/food in anyway, this was only serverlag already, 6 SECONDS DIFFERENCE ! Only the server caused 6 seconds difference !
This is already 5% difference, caused by "the blackhole"
So what are we talking about ?
Food doing 10% ? Where 5% could be already eaten by the servers ?
Nah...Spice SHOULD do at least 20%, so please SoE, GIVE us 20%.
Food should do +200 (anyone know anyway, what this is compared to % ? What is +200 regen ?! What is the number for our baseregen ?)
Ok..lets ASSUME (i dunno it) our mind/action is 3K.
It takes bout 120s to recharge full.
So we have a tick of 25/s recharge, right ?
So +200 should be what ? 8 times faster recharge ?
So no talk about a "second"...cmon, regen food is seriously broken !
Or misdesigned:-P
Di you realized something btw ?
The food and the "healthcrystal" or ALL working...and here is something "funny":
Health has hard numbers !! (you can SEE in NUMBERS, how much health you got).
But everything which doesnt have hardnumbers, rather percentage (mind and action are displayed in percentage) are NOT working in ANY way, neither with FOOD (adding NUMBERS), neither with the MINDCRYSTAL (adding numbers) nor with docbuffs (also hardnumbers).
You see a "system"?
Could it be, that SoE broke action/mindrecharge when "forgetting" to change food to percentage ? When these both pools where change to percentage ?
See Spice...the ONLY one working...and what is it ?
Right....percentage (+20%)
I think, THIS is the reason for the bug....the disharmonie between pools measured in percentage and buffs/food in hardnumbers !
