Thread: We have more that the Tatooine Sunburn
OK I broke down and looked at the big book o chef foods.
Didnt really want to because I like to be suprised but I was curious just how badly out of whack we are.
After loking at it I have come to teh following conclusions
Mixology 1 (broke)
Mixology 2 (broke) includeing the tat sunburn. way too powerful for where it is
mixology 3 Ice blaster looks nice but more along the lines of something Id want to see on mixology 1. (broke)
Mixology 4 decent but way too far up the tree for the amount of buffs. (misplaced)
entree 1 Borderline until you look at the duration. (broke)
entree 2 (misplaced) not too bad. maybe entree 1 Ormacheck looks nice. I could sell it
entree 3 (broke) to little for where it is and I'm already putting entree 2 in the 1 slot
entree 4 (Good) It could use some work especially when compared to the tat sunburn but nice recipies except for Braised Canron
Deserts 1 Broke at first glance and prolbalbly just underpowered but nothing there will sell ever No money to be made here (not broke but bad)
Desert 2 Similar story with 1. Dweezel might sell but its a pathetic buff for this level. they all are. (broke)
Desert 3 not bad. Ryshcate looks good. kinda low powered across the board. prolly needs to goto desert 1 (misplaced)
Desert 4 Not too bad. some odd choices here like Vagnerian Canape. The rest arent bad but should prolblablyy be in desert 2 and MAYBE 3 (misplaced)
Master
Thakitillo: Isnt bad but at this level I wodner why I'm just now getting it (misplaced)
Flameout: looks good at first but it has no practical use. especially when mind stims are not available. Mind pool is at a premium in combat. possibly good for doctors or other professions who have high mind but low health. (misplacedand a odd choice of buffs and nerfs)
Breath of Heaven: not bad but similar to Thakitillo. (misplaced)
Angerian Fishak Surprise: kind of the oppisite of Flameout which makes it good for the same reason flameout isnt. This can sell. I've never heard of anyone lacking action pool only problem is its way too far up(Good but misplaced)
Anyway Im sure many of you already knew this. but I have always wondered why everyone says only tat sunburn sells. Maybe its all that sells for uber money but its not ll that sells. there are alot of good buffs here even if they are in the wrong spots.
This profession needs some TLC from the devs but please dont think it is all bad. It will help us deal with the devs if we look at our proffesion from the waht is good standpoint and says "This is more along the lines of what we want. To that end Here is what I think we should be in the trees
Novice. +100 boosts to 1 or more stats. Not every food needs to be overwhelming but it should at the very least be as good as the best of the previous. in this case DA 4
line 1 +150-+300 durations should be getting longer here not shorter. the massive boosts should be shortlived but it needs to be balanced. dont boost mind by 400 for 60 seconds. by the time you heal it up you lose it.
line 2 +300-500. again durations should be pretty decent
line 3 +500-800
line 4 +800-1200
master +1200+ with durations up near the 10 minute level if not more
This is ust my opinion on what should be. If other chefs have different ideas please post here what you think is more in line with the different trees. I am kind of biased agaisnt anything that lowers mind focus and willpower so those with a different point of view please post your view and why. To me until a doctor can heal mind damage it is crucial your mind be in its best possible condition.
My main sales come from:
Tatooine sunburn,
corellian fried icecream,
vercupti of agazza boleruuee
I also sell:
Thakitillo, flameout, angerian fishak surprise, ormachek, veronian berry wine, and a few other things.
I dont sell anything at a rate of under 10cpu, and make between 15-30 cpu on most stuff. I make a steady profit.

I tried posting almost the EXACT same suggestion on another thread lastnight but the boards went haywire & I gave up
To me, that is the ideal structure, and your figures are within +-50 of what I thought of.
As far as sales go, on Tarquinas hardly anyone even realises what food does, never mind buying it.
I mainly make food for PA members, and I have sold less than 20k/cr of food in a month until yesterday when I got an order for 30k/cr of sunburn. My income comes from missions & PA members.
I can't keep Ormachek in stock usually. I filled one vendor up with about 20 of them and overnight they disappeared. Either one person stocked up, or people go to Leppy's just for the Ormachek ![]()
I got Entrees IV last night and I'll most likely be selling Bivoli Tempari and Xermaauc fairly well, though pricey because of the amount of components needed.
I also rename all of the foods to something more fun... Ormachek is always renamed to "Fuzzy Mindblowing Pickles"
People love the renaming! They think it's cute and funny ![]()
I'm curious as to how you get the word out to some people and how much you think is a realistic price for Tatooine Sunburns.I've been able to sell a crate for well over 1k each but now I'm struggling to sell the 150+ I cranked out.
Anyone have some tips for a semi-aspiring chef trying to pay his maintenance?
I name my foods differnt as well usually ![]()
I used to use Omap oats to make traveler bisucets so I named them Omap Biscuits. and Ena berries in the Ena Treats ![]()

Honestly, that looks ALOT like the spice buff ranges. I just don't think its going to happen for Chefs. Food has certain clear benefits over spice (no downer - no "puke" - multidoses). All spice has going for it is stronger buffs and fewer bugs. I don't think the intention is to give food these kinds of buffs. What you really need is to take away the factory bugs, fix the resource issuesand balance the XP.
Another thing that worries me anout the Chef profession: does anyone else think there is a typo in the buffs the Tat Sunburn gives. I suspect TS should buff +160 STR, +160 STAM, and a nerf is on the way. Otherwise, why would the dev's have put this in Mix II, when it is as good or better than most Master Chef items?
