I am going to drop CH, and combat skills and go BE/Chef.

I already have BE but I was curious how should I grind up the Chef ladder?

The most direct path you would want to take would be to get entrees 1 first. then you can make stewed gwouches which you can grind (100xp per) until you can make your way up to mixology 1 and 2. In mixology 2, you can make tatooine sunburn for cash, then use that cash to make more sunburns and buy corn and wheat, which youll need to grind ithorian mists. Those are 178xp per. Now grind up the experimentation tree so you can make great sunburns and make more money, and then fill in the rest of the tree as you like.

Correct me if im wrong, but i think this is the most direct path to mastering chef

I'm not too concerned with cash atm... I got a few million credits and will likely harvest my own materials as I have tons of harvesters.

I just wanna know what items give the most exp as I progress.

Also whatis the UXP for items? This info will help me calculate how much of whatever resources I need.

UXP is mostly bugged. The person has to be in the zone with you while you are online when they finish the stack. Go up to Mix 2 and do Ithorian Mists those are the best for xp with easy to get resources. The only thing that is better is at the top of the entree line but it uses hides soI ruled that one out for me.

I get 107 exp per practice for Won-wons, which are in desert I I believe. They take something like 10 water, 10 wheat, 5 fruit, and 5 polyer I think.

Stewed Gwouch is the easiest, resource wise, or Ithorian Mist.

You need LOTS of resources, so a number of large harvies id preferable if you have that sort of backing.

If you are after pure grinding, there are a number of ingame macros you can use :
use 4 craft tools on slots 1-4 on a quickbar

make 4 macro's :
/ui action toolbarSlot00;/selectdraftschematic 113;

/ui action toolbarSlot01;/selectdraftschematic 113;

/ui action toolbarSlot02;/selectdraftschematic 113;

/ui action toolbarSlot03;/selectdraftschematic 113;

I placed these on f5-8

replace 113 with the number for stewed gwouch/mist, which you will have to find yourself as it varies on your crafting lists, and if you are near a crafting station or not.

now, pressing f1-4 will open your craft tool at the right schematics.

If you have a mouse that has drivers that allow programming of buttons, set the mousewheel press or a side buttong (if you have one) as double click. This speeds up adding resources, as it's only one click per resource, instead of 2 (also lowers RSI/mousewear)

Now, you have 2 options. Do you use practice mode for the extra 5% XP, or do you go for pure speed ?

If you go for pure speed, make a new macro & quickbar it :
/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype

This will replace all the key pressing/clicking for all the next stages of crafting. If you get a critical fail, instead of a window popping up that you have to click away, it just doesnt make the item.
However, it doesn't work with practice mode, it will make the item, so you need to dump or destroy the produced items (your PA mates will be SICK of gwouch, and make them eat it for the UXP - I advice using the lowest stat resources you can get for low stack sizes = faster UXP)

Some people think this method is unethical, others love it, it's up to you.
I personally found this method out about 2000xp from Master but it DOES work, as I did it for Spices on Smuggler (after Chef, I couldn't face all that crafting again, even if smuggler gets 4xp per resource)

A lot of people think grinding and using ingame macro's are wrong.

Personally, I think that as long as it's legal, uses ingame mechanics, and isn't an exploit, then you play the game how you want to.

If you want to RP level, gaining skill only on orders from people, fine. If you want to master it as fast as possible, that's fine aswell.

I admit to doing Slicing and Spices on smuggler in under 14 hours total, but chef took me a whole lot longer

Although I must say... Grinding the entire Artisan then Chef profession without the use of a macro and doing everything by hand with Ithorian Mist and using 6 food and chemicals is much more rewarding...
