Master Pistolleer/Master Chef checkin' in. Helps me to get out of the kitchen...and I can collect my own meat and hides too...not that I do. Maybe I should change "can" to "could", hehe. I have a little bit of scout and medic to help with terrain and healing when I'm in battle. I'm not advertising this as a good template by any means...but it's just what I currently do.

You could drop Master Art...I did - yeah, no vehicles, but it doesn't hurt you much aside from that. what about architect?Free furniture, make a restaurant for the chefside of your crafting char. Could be fun.hehe, my ideas are as interesting as mud...anyone else? what does the other side of your chef char do??????

I'm a Master Chef/Master TK....this keeps me busy and ensures lots of fun and variety. Crafting and Combat, the two key aspects (only aspects? hehe)of the game. I'm also 4-0-4-0 Scout and a 0-4-3-4 Artisan. So I survey and scout my own resources, and then pay tons of money for BE tissues and trim But I'm having fun, and that's all that matters in SWG.

BTW, I started out as a Master CM.... and i really miss having medic skills. I need to get buffed all the time if I'm huntin big game. But that's cool, especially when you brew your own brandy and bake your own canape...

I am both a Chef and a BE, and I recommend that if you decide to go BE to get to Master because +25 of experimentation andassemblyis at the Master Level box.

I'm CH paired with Chef and some pistoleer and medic. It makes for a lot of fun and I'm able to hunt on the harder planets without too much help. I can keep myself and my cats healed with np and harvest what I need for myself pretty well. It definitely helps in PVP to hand out the food and befriend your cats to the best pvp on your team. If your not masterig BE it might be hard to get the quality tissues you want. I'm lucky enough to have a friend who runs my vendor and another who will make my BE schems for me.

if you get some BE but don't master, you still won't be able to make the intelligent nanonutrients. i go through those like crazy on canapes and bivoli.

I'm currently running my crafting character as a Master Artisan, Master Chef, Master Tailor. As our guild currently has 4 tailors, I'm about ready to ditch the tailor thing. I'm trying to decide what I want to pair with Chef, as I plan on keeping it. I just found out that my favorite BE is going out of business come JTL, so I'm leaning towards picking up two trees of BE, the tissues and the techniques as I recall. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? If I remember right, I'll have to drop MArt, but as I don't do much with it anyway, that shouldn't be a problem... but no more free vehicles... Hmmm.... So, what are your other professions?

Really depends on what you like to do.

If you want to be a self sufficient Chef (well, almost that is), then I would suggest this:

Master Chef (obviously :smileyhappy, Master BE (to make the Additives), Novice Tailor (for trim to make casks), Surveying 4....this leaves 17 extra sp I believe....the only thing you won't be able to do is kill your own creatures for meat; however, you can always get in a group with a couple of friends, go hunt with them and harvest their kills.

That's the ultimate Chef template in my opinion; however, it's boring unless you REAALY like to cook.

Otherwise, I'd go with some of the previous suggestions with a combat prof thrown in

I am an incredibly cheap chef, I can't stand paying money for anything I can do myself, so my solution was to get master chef and a combat profession for hunting. I gather all the meat and flora needed for additives and have schematics made for me. This way I can have that much more control over the entire food crafting process. The decision gets a whole lot easier if you have multiple accounts. But in my case, I'm a chef on my one and only toon, so to be able to experience a little more of the game I chose, master chef/pikeperson (with some merchant, artisan, and scout sprinkled in).

I suppose I should have added that my combat character is Master Fencer, working on Swordsman. With pleanty of scout for harvesting, not to mention a great guild for support in those areas.

We've got a guild architect, who is one of my best friends RL, so furniture isn't a need. I talked with one of our tailors last night, and they said that getting me trim would NOT be an issue. So, I suppose the question becomes how much merchant can I drop and still be where I need to be. I don't find myself using heavies that often. Of course, I'm not a super-high volume chef, so I don't do a lot of runs of anything. It's been great just being able to grab what I need when I need it, so I suppose picking up Master BE might be an idea. Although, we've got a couple of people talking about going that route. Oh, the options! Thanks for the input so far, more is always welcome!

If you want to produce a high volume of food and you don't have consistent access to a master BE then I would recommend adding master BE.

I am a chef/smuggler. I used to sell spices but the chef revamp killed a lot of the demand. Smugglers are going to be getting a revamp and I am pretty sure that spices are going to be useful again. Ithink they are going to add experimentation so it will be easy to make spices if I am already looking for high quality resources anyway.

Now if they would only hurry up and get that revamp done sometime after JTL.

was master chef, with explore and hunt 4, master pistol, artisian with survey, let me get all my own meat, resources and such. If you are not a pvper, don't need to go too high in pistol, make sure you get stopping shot and fan shot.
