Thread: Something I just found out for TC.
Guys I just confirmed from people in test center that we can transfer our skills there (not avatar or resources) but the master chef skill and the rest will be there when you do it like this. Type /up and it will move all your stats on a seperate server, then you go to test center make a avatar and type /down when you spawn on your home planet. Doing this keeps your avatar on your home serverthe same. While having your full skill set on TC.
I know this isnt like character copy but it will help get more chefs onto TC and grind out all the bugs out of our revamp.
Can I get a update to see if patch was released today.

Anyway, it has to be the same species and gender on teh test center. If you are an adorable male wookiee when you type /up, you have to be a male wookiee when you type /down.

Nope you guys just get the skill template which is what I wanted. I can always go do faction or destroy missions for real money. If you talk to Vandessa she can help you with aquiring what we need to start the test proccess. If we can round up enough chefs together we can share resources and notes on the new updates.

I will also find out from Vandessa about locations of crafting stations and all that.
And don't worry about bulk. Just make what you can, even if it is just one or two items, and post stuff here. I will create two threads when the patch finally hits. One for people to share their results and one for bugs. Just make what you can and tell us the results. And make sure the effects work.
Okay here is the skinny about the /up and /down commands that are currently on TC.
They don't work for players yet. Probably won't for another month or so. It's currently highly unstable and has been around since cities were first patched to test.
Okay, with that aside here is how it will work once it is turned on:
1) You log into your normal character on your home server and type /up
2) You make a character of same race and gender and give it a name (go through the tutorial and stuff)
3) You type /down and select the character you want to download. What happens is the skills your live character had are transfered to this new character. So basicly what you are doing is buffing up a new character to the exact xp levels of the old character.
No, credits will not transfer.
No, jedi will not transfer. You will be subject to the new path this new character created and will have to unlock from scratch.
No, items will not transfer.
Hope that helps guys. Doubtful we will see this turned on for this publish. *maybe* next publish but, we'll see.
I'll try it out tonight. I'm as enthused about this revamp as anyone and want to help out. Besides, it would be a great way for some of us to get to meet each other in person (in avatar?), well, you know what i mean.
Lets try to get some kind of organization going if we can than just trying to do our own thing. We could help each other out alot, thus ending up with better results for the testing time spent. We should all meet someplace on a particular planet and consider that our laboratory on the test center where we can coordinate things a little better.

I was wondering why I had not heard about this before.
From what I read in the popup it disables your original character, ie: the one you are copying
I don't have to tell you how much that will suck if I try it and lose my character just to end up on test center.
Please someone tell me I am wrong.

From what I read in the popup, transfering your character to the test center will not disable your original character. Transfering your character from Starsider to Eclipse, for example, will disable your original character.
Vimes, Vandessa can you please have a CSR or Dev please check into what would happen if we did this and disabled our Characters could we have a dev reactivate asap. I am willing to try but I dont wana lose my whole account trying to help a publish ring out the bugs.
