I just wondered how everyone felt about others buying your items...to only resell them on their own vendors?????

Lame, but as long as you get paid for it.

And ultimately if its selling good of their vendor, the consumers will see that they didn't make it and (hopefully) come to you directly to getit next time.

Plus::: You get paid and sell fast

Minus::: You realize that you could be making more money

I'd be ok with it, although I haven't noticed it being done.

Although if there's a big markup, I might consider that my prices are too low and bump them up a bit.

There's a been a long thread on my server's forum about this, and while i don't think its right its hard to stop.

But personally i charge enough so that its fair to the customers and it sells, but if someone bought to resell, there wouldn't be much overhead for profit.

If you want to prevent this, make sure you put the price of the item on the name. If I buy 'X Brandy +400, 45m 200k' If someone resells it at 250k theres a big fat price tag right there. If you have room, a waypoint to the original shop is handy too.

It was fine with me. I think at least half of my sales where to resellers. I sold tons of food; only sold cases and make a very good profit. I saw no reason in trying to get every single credit of profit for myself.

I peraonally dont care what they do with it once they buy it off my vendor for what I feel is a fair price. I even make brandy for people in bulk orders with whatever name on it they want for resale. They of course get no break in price.

It used to bother me, but then I realized, why care? I got paid for it..

I don't have a problem with someone reselling my food, it's when they come buy 10 or 15 crates and clean out a vendor of a type of food I get bothered. I'd rather they have made an order and given me time to make it instead of leaving my vendor empty of some type of food.

I would have no problem with it in the least. If I my products sell too fast, I generally raise my prices slightly, untill things sell at a reasonable rate.

I try to watch the market, to make sure that I'm competitive in my pricing, so nobody would be able to make huge profits from reselling my food, because I'm not priced far off the average.

Besides, why is itthatresellers seem to be hated by so many crafters ?

The way I see it once its bought, its bought, and I don't care who buys it or why. I put my food up for a price that I feel comfortable selling it for. Like an above poster said, if my stuff sells to quick, I just raise my price a bit. There will always be the one guy who sells stuff for about half of what every other chef does, and why not buy their stock and resell it.

I've had it happen several times, and it bugs me. Scrambling around for resources, getting bio-additives, and doing all the factory runs for food is a long process. I work hard at being a chef, and don't like the thought of someone making easy profit off my efforts.

Plus people who resell tend to buy large amounts, which means I'm no longer well stocked. I've built the reputation of my shop on always having what people need. If someone comes looking for their favorite food and I don't have it, I may have just lost a customer. It's bad for business in the long run.

I've raised my prices several times, and now have them at a level where my food sells fairly steadily, but doesn't sell out and doesn't sell to resellers. If I were only after profit, I'd lower prices to sell faster and not care where it goes, but I'm more interested in running a great shop providing good service.

I don't really mind when they do it, except when they completely clean me out of several foods. Then I am stuck with an empty vendor while I make more food for a day or so.
