Thread: Sciguy stomach not emptying at death needs to be fixed!

I'm pretty sure one of the daily updates on test center was to fix this. So maybe see it in pub 8.
It does suck when you are dependent on food or drink.
While I agree with you completely, I was never clear if it was a bug or if it was intentional.
Either way it should be changed.
But compaining aside, ITS NOT AS SIMPLE as 99.9% of the people whining about this problem make it out to be. And I'm not talking about just dev "work", I mean everyone needs to step back and look at the whole system and then propose a fix, an *not* just do what works for the 99.9% case (Brandy). That lack of thinking is what made this last fix just not really solve the icon issues and it wont magically fix the stomach problem.
As for Synthsteak I knew it didn’t clear at cloning, but are you sure you are still getting the reduced damage?

Well, that is real world logic and does not always apply to game logic. For example, does it make sense that you can be shot in the head multiple times with a bolt of energy that explodes on impact just because you drank some brandy?
Sometimes game systems trump reality.
I have seen it argued that your stomach should NOT empty out when you die. The thinking behind this is that it is a good way to empty your stomach. You filled up with whatever food and can't take any more? Just have a friend kill you in PVP and your stomach is empty!
That is the arguement, at least, and not one I agree with. I think that if all the benefits of food goes away along with your stomach emptying (sp?), this minimizes the use of any exploit.

I would love if someone could 100% confirm they are working on this, but as far as I can tell they aren’t.As for Synthsteak I knew it didn’t clear at cloning, but are you sure you are still getting the reduced damage?
yes.
I haven't tried any other "x" use foods recently (XP for example), just synthsteak, but because the icon gets lost on death I have to watch the combat spam to get an idea of when to eat more and I do see the benefits of the food for a few hits post-death after I clone and try to eat more and get the "you are already under the influence/protected" message.
If the stomach cleared immediately, you could re-buff and go after the creatures right away. Do this enough times, and you could eventually take down something too far above your skill level. The delay imposed by the digestion would prevent that most of the time.
Kinda like you can just rebuff youself if you are a doctor?
I really really think this is a bug, and they intended it to clear at cloning. I think the first step would be to find out forsure. Its kinda of sad that we don't have this information, how can we focus on getting anything fixed when we are forced to squabble on pure speculation?
