Thread: Woe be unto the Chef. Praise be unto the Artisan
jadeew wrote:Just wondering why people are in such an uproar abuot the Chef foods. I currently stock 13 foods. Of these 13 foods, 5 are Artisan foods. 62% of my stock are Chef foods. Everything I stock sells. Since the CU, my menu has expanded from 8 to 13 foods. This means that I have increased the selection at my vendors by 38%. Seems to me that there is an increase in the number of viable foods, and yet people complain. Is the problem that you can't just stock a bunch of brandy and become a millionaire now? Mabey it's that you cant go down to your local Chef and pick up your "I win" button. Whatever it is, makes no difference to me. Chef still rocks.
If you know what you're doing, have the resources to get the best out of the foods this is very true.
Most of the complaints come from people still learning the profession. After all for a long time Vercupti was thought to be useless, then some had the idea of trying to get it to 50 fill, then it became one of the hottest sellers.
The more time we have with our foods, the more we learn to do with them.
That being said, some foods could do with some bolstering or stats changes to make them useful (i'm looking at you Thakitillo and Citros Snow Cake)

Heh. You were selling a whole 8 foods pre-cu? No wonder you think there's a huge selection nowadays. I was selling 40 foods and 39 out of the 40 were regular sellers. Scrimpi was the only one that almost never sold. I'm glad you're happy with the selection post-cu but then, if all you were doing is selling brandy & canape before I can see how you would be happy now.
My menu now (feel free to clicky the link in my sig) while it is not too shabby...is nowhere near as diverse and interesting as it was pre-cu. This isn't a complaint (though I do like diversity) but it's a statement of facts. CU greatly reduced the diversity of foods and if you were too narrow-minded pre-cu to see what a large diversity we USED to have then that's your issue - obviously you were one of those "mass brandy producers" that you're mocking in your own post. ![]()

I agree with apex. Although my menu is a little larger (about 30-40 items).
My sales have never been better. I had a 5 month hiatus from chef and then picked it upand got support right off the bat.
I now do about 8-12 mill a day. Chef is far from dead my friends.

Before you call ppl a tool you should go back to your noob server and refer to previous case of ST v FU. The CU or pre-CU is not why you suck at chef I'm sure. I'm still laughing that you had 8 foods pre-cu and only 13 now.
So keep it clean please.

What is your point other then to ridicule and insult others? I make 21 differnt types of food, and don't take that as self-promotion, but do I really feel the need to come here and mock others because they don't do the same?

They're not just a compliment though... they are vastly better than anything a chef can make.
Blob Candy is the perfect example. I could literally drop master chef and go master artisan with 14 points and make MORE money as an artisan than as a chef.
That's pretty skewed.

I came over to this forum for some chill out time. One of my other toons is a BH and I thought the BH and Jedi forums got a bit heated sometimes, but they are positively jovial compared to this thread.
