I'm actually not a big fan of this. I depend on player vendors to find a lot of my resources. I know of a few out-of-the-way vendors that sell lots of good stuff for relatively cheap. Part of the reason they have what I need is that most people don't know about them.
With the global vendor search in place, these places are no longer secret. It'll be much harder to find what I need since most of the good stuff will be located and purchased very quick.

I had a look, so hectic though i'm not sure what help it will be if any to me.
But at least there's no remote buying, they at least listend to that.
Now if only it had required some merchant skills, then it would of been great.

Right it lists everything and then you can create a wp to that shop/vendor.

I haven't gotten on today (and the last time I checked on TC was before some changes were made), but here's what I'm gathering:
- The bazaar has a new tab for vendor search, which returns a list of all items sold on vendors that have been "registered". This registration is available on all vendors regardless of Business / Merchant skills (something I personally disagree with).
- You cannot buy an item from a player vendor unless you're physically at the vendor. So after finding something on the bazaar search, you have to travel to the vendor.
- From the global search, you can filter by "Region", "Planet", or "entire galaxy", however since this search is only from bazaar terminals, which are only in NPC cities, which are in self-contained no-build regions, only the "Planet" and "Entire galaxy" actually report anything.
- Right clicking on an item allows you to create a waypoint to the vendor carrying that item. Although I've seen reports that the waypoint is actually to the building containing the vendor, which can get tricky finding the right vendor within large malls.
- The main search listing has acolumn listing the item's price, which has been a touchy subject for various merchants and customers.

Yes it only does give a wp to the shop not the vendor and there is no vendor name in the list either so once you get to the shop you just have to do some more searching wich is better still in my book than having to run to 90 different vendors and not finding anything at least this way you know that in this shop your in there is something you need/want.

Am I the only one that isn't pleased that they implemented the price display too? It was an issue before, when everybody was afraid that it would create and undercutter's market, and it seems that that's the way things are going to go.

Well, I played around with it a bit tonight, and there are definitely issues that I'd like to see changed.
It's not even the "big problems" people were worried about (those probably need more time to really crop up). Having the price displayed on the main search listis one, although that was never really too big of a deal to me personally. The bazaar organization has always stunk, and having 10,000 items under "Misc -> Factory crates" (whether it's food, trim, power ups, spice, tissues or stims) just makes that more obvious. The "region" choice is pointless, since you can't put a player vendor into the same zone as an NPC city (although this may leave an opening for bazaar terminals in player cities). Some sort of consoladation of identical items on the same vendor would be nice. If it's an SQL query, maybe they could do a "find unique" on the combination of serial number, price, and vendor location(along with a counter for how many are in stock), although that does tend to have a performance hit, depending on how the market database is tuned. Also, it'd be nice to see the vendor owner's name as a column, many merchants like to build up a reputation for quality stock, and that'd make it more obvious.
On the shopping side, I was able to track down the last couple pieces of a blue rug I was putting together (gotthe adhesive as a quest reward), and found a nice new source of trim. I'm not sure how it's affected my business, most of my sales today (after turning on vendor search) were from prior customers.

I doubt many people will use it to find chef products considering the fact that in the first 6 or so hours the patch was out there were already over 2000 factory crates listed in Valcyn. It's just too mind boggling to have to page through every smuggler, doctor, tailor, WS, AS, DE, chef, etc. product in the entire galaxy. It'll be helpful for resources and vehicles/ships, though, I'd bet

My take on it so far is that its not good. On a planet search i end up on page 15, so customers have to brovse through 2 other chefs items to get to my stuff. Sales have dropped 80-90% since it went live.

Same problem here, too. It's too easy to find the first person listed and go to their shop, and there's no way to determine who's shop is listed in a particular order. Granted, I'm well stocked, whereas other people may or may not be, but I've still noticed that sales took a hit today. Not pleased. I don't want people to have to browse through 10 pages of garbage and things they don't need or want before they get to my listings. I'm tempted to turn the stupid option off, except that at this point, it's neither beneficial nor detrimental having items listed. The problem with the system is that there is a jumble of factory crates for all professions, and it's tough to wade through. I did happen to notice though, that one chef's items were all showing up far before mine, which basically means that he got all of the bazaar sales for the day.
I'll say it again, I am not pleased. Some of you know...chef has been the only thing keeping me here, and I'm not jumping on the "fix it or I'll quit" bandwagon, but if it's not at least reasonably lucrative, I'm not going to have much reason to stay. Either I'll find something else fun with the coming changes, or I won't, but it'll be a shame if the CU doesn't do something good, since this patch was such a total and utter disappointment. It's never been solely about the money to me, but there isn't much point in having a well stocked vendor if I need to sell at cost to keep afloat in a sea of undercutters, or worse yet, going to those lengths and still losing traffic. I'm hoping today was a fluke thing, and that things will return to normal tomorrow, but for all the good things we received in patches prior to this one, the trend seems to have come to a screeching halt.
