Thread: *sigh* blasted holocron (SirVimes please advise)
So you are saying, the Dev's should make this profession easier, so its easier for you?
Get real.
We get through it because we want to do it. If you cant handle it just forget about jedi.
Where did you hear Chef is the worst grind?
To give you an idea of how little you seem know about the Jedi/Holo grind (no offense, but you aren't really saying too many nice things about our chosen profession on our forums), most people are tickled when they get a crafting profession that can can be ground out with non-creature-harvested ingredients. Artisan? 4 hours tops. Architect? Couple days max. Even Chef can be done in less than a week if you are motivated.
So you need to ask yourself, are you motivated? Because if you aren't ready to master EVERY profession, you aren't ready for Jedi.
Boy...I can't wait til you get a gander at Pikeman...lol.

Not quite sure what you want me to do about it....I put up ritualistic's guide because, combined with some other posts in the thread, the best advice out there.
Want a different answer? Wait a few months. Hope that maybe the new revamp might be easier to grind.
Personally, I did not thing this profession is boring. I think it has one of the most potential for fun (although somewhat goofy fun) of the profressions.
Other than that...I think I will take some of Nikii's valium.
I've got to start carrying a flamethrower around these forums ![]()
I'm going to be lazy and agree with the usual suspects. Also, it should be noted that SOE won't cancel your account if you don't do what the holocron says. You always have the power to say no.
But if he doesnt do what the holocron says how can he be an uber jedi? Are you upset because you wont have time to start jedi before you have to go back to school from winter break? Professions are meant to be hard. Chef is one of the easiest to master if you put the time into it. If you dont want to take the time to do the macro grind. Well head to EB and get KOTR. You can be you uB3r j3d1 then ok?
Sirvimes please tell me theres a sticky in your hidden correspondent forum where the devs apoligize for doing holocrons. Please tell me there sorry they have put thie plaque upon SWG
to be honest...you know not of which you speak
22k in a fourth level box? Im not sure whether I should laugh at your assumption or be insulted that you think so little of us.
See my problem here is two fold. First i only mastered chef a month ago. So im one of the new ones. I know the grind. I did it recently. If it was higher xp i didnt know or care. To master a profession should mean something. But all you holokids come in here want to water our professions down into 12 hours. I sold resources to a guy who created a non-swg macro app to click on the resources for him. See to me this again wastes what it means that your doing. Your supposed to be learning what it means to be in these professions not wasting your time grinding it in 12 hours. I have heard so much money dropped to be a jedi its funny. Hell the guy bought 1.2 million in resources from me alone. One of my guild members dropped 2 million in resources to master architect. But he at least gave us whatever we wanted from him when he hit master before he dropped it.
The hologrind is to teach you all aspects of the game. It is not to test your patience. I am working on a holo profession with my fighter account. But i am not grinding it or rushing it. Im enjoying it and learning what it means to be in it. When you finally hit jedi you will find that you have no terrain negoation. Bounty hunters after your behind. And a ton of trouble finding force crystals or even a safe place to hunt. As well as a 1 million xp!! requirement for a column. Force XP is almost equal to combat xp. Do the math.
You have insulted everyone in here who has mastered or is working on it. Whether you did it intentional or not doesnt matter. What matters is that you didnt think before you hit submit post

22k? I started work on Chef the first month of release and belive me the requirements never changed.
Took me 2 months to make master, but then again i actually wanted to be a chef!
Here we have a die-hard Chef, someone who grinded chef because she wanted to be one and was happy to spend the time needed for a solid grind, she took 2 months to master it. Does that tell anyone anything? Websites uncontrolled by the iron fist of the devs all say that Chef is a hologrinder's nightmare and that it often halts many in their tracks. Chef is one of the few classes which cannot be mastered based on skill level or whether or not one is a 'powergamer'. I am certainly far fromthe powergamer statusand even they find the chef profession tiring. Drag resources into 2, maybe three slots, hit a button a few times and you have a small trickle of XP to show for it, rinse and repeat.I expired almost 6k of corn on grinding out wastril bread, wasn't even enough for half of a level1 skill (yes, I am using practise mode). I'm not made of credits and my harvestors are slower than I am almost so buying my resources is the best I can hope for. My decent missions were all nerfed by the devs so I make like 6k on a level 40difficulty mission now rather than 20k. If I'm not selling force crystals I scrounged from thugs, I'm usually bankrupt. I noticed my first post was 'kindly' removed and I know I wasn't knocking the devs, simply expressing an opinion so I wonder if SirVimes has something to say about it? Correspondants are partly responsible for organising profession boards.I posted in the relevant topic board, didn't bother to insult the devsand by not personally insulting the community members, my first post should have remained. I'm sure fellow hologrinders would be interested to know of the negative side to the chef, and not just the positive. My question has not been answered and I can't see it everbeing answered. You'll all be glad to hear this is the last this board will hear of me. If this profession I ever successfully master once, once will be enough for me. I'll take my futurequestions elsewhere.
*awaits topic deletion*
Ok, jedi is truly a powergamer profession. It's really not open to someone who isn't. That is a plain truth. It isn't based on very much skill, just pure efficiency and effort. I personally think it's ludicris that people (soooo many people!) want to go through that, when jedi itself is a treadmill too.
About half my time to master chef was grinding. Time when sat down crafting bread/mists. But domestic arts IV and half my "grind" was creating sale foods. True, factories didn't work and I had to punch out sunburns/charde by hand, but I still did it in the spirit of the profession. Many others here did the same, and I think when people come here and want the quickest trip to master just so they can surrender it, most of us are flabergasted.
