Thread: Would this chef/BE arrangement be fair?

Considering BE enhanced Chef foods are looking like they will sell in the 200k per crate range (possibly more), I don't think that would be a fair arrangement. Esepecially not for just 2 crates of BE subs. BE enhanced Chef food will be the creme of the crop....might be a better deal for a crate of non-BE enhanced.

Time will tell, but I think most Chefs would prefer to provide the materials for a schematic.

Look at it this way, you are talking about trading 100 subs for a crate of 500ish brandies (if casks are used). Don't get me wrong, BE subs are hard to make....but that just doesn't add up.

BE makes 1 factory run.

Chef makes1 factory run to turn those supplements into chef supplements.

Chef makes 1 factory run glasses.

Chef makes 1 factory run alcohol.

Chef makes 49 brandys assuming the schematic went perfect.

Chef gives 25 brandys to BE. Chef keeps 24 brandys.

Being both BE and Chef I can give an honest impression on both sides here. Only one factory run for the BE, this is true. However the BE additive take a lot of resources. Crystal is easy to get. Water a bit harder, but not too bad. The trim can be problematic. The flora resources, I mean 10 and 10, is nothing. The meat for the BE additive on the other hand........ There is also a big floral requirement.

I think a fair arrangement would be to do a full 1k run of the BE additives and give that to the chef. The chef then gives the BE 5 of the 40 crates. The BE is then set for 6 to 8 months on mind stims for DNA sampling. Keep in mind that the duration on this food is very long as is the stack size.

That is one of the problems the BE resources generally take as much if not more than the final food item. Plus the fact that it requires so much meat that is a semi scarce resouce. The other problem is The BE tissue almost doubles the quality of my item? Come on.

One other thing people overlook on what is needed to make BE tissues is:

Our resources require good OQ, PE, and FL. This makes it hard to get good creature resources at any given time.

So, not only does the meat market (on several servers) drive the cost way up for these chef foods but the rare creature resources that have high stats in all three categories, makes it very hard to do any serious factory runs.

No...chefs dont overlook that...we need all 4 stats in our meat. Oh wait, nm it SAYS we need all 4 stats, but it really doesnt much matter when you compare bad to good so I guess thats all a thing of the past.

That would probably sound fair, but then you wouldn't see the BE again much interested in making another batch till Christmas

Glad we can edit finally...

Okay, I was thinking of trying to find a chef willing to go with the following arrangement:
I supply the chef with two crates (plus a few to experiment with) of BE components in return for one crate of something (brandy, most likely) made with one of those crates of components.

Think that sounds fair?

On second thought, perhaps 1 for 4 or so would be equitable.

As a chef.. I wont buy BE addtives from a BE. What I will do is ask a BE to come over and make a schem with the meat I provide. Pay him 50k for his 2 minutes of time. I've made some of the +421 Vasarian Brandy and have only accepted meat in trade for this awesome drink. Its much easier now to call over that BE and have him make 6 schematics and pay him a few 100k while I run the schems myself in my factories.

Will a BE feel this is wrong? I would hope not.. 50k, 100k, 200k for just a few minutes of his/her time. Booya!

I think what will happen is that at first the BE's will make the schematics for people. But when they see the millions the chefs will reap off there classes skills that will change. Same thing has happened on Corbantis with Armor and slicers that resell.

Armor prices have steadily gone up to the point where the smugglers profit is geting smaller each week. Top quality suits are going in the range of 600k to 1mil now or between 100cpu and 250cpu if you like to keep track that way.

The reasoning is once a class feels that they are not getting enough of the profit from there class they will either quit or start charging more. If you are not treating a partnerfairly they will remember that alot longer than the 50k you tipped them. Think what you would say if somebody brought you 100k wheat and 100k water and asked you to make them a schematic for some food for 50k.

From what I can see it takesas muchskill and time to make the BE componentsas the actual foods. If you can find master BE's to make your additives for you then great. But if you are smart you will look to the future . BE is one of the least played classes behind only Droid Engineer. If you go to the BE forum you can see they are quitting in droves. You are better off bringing them in as a full partner than treating them as hired help. There will be plenty of credits to go around for everyone anyway. Kick them down a couple crates of food at the least!

I guess it all comes down to what you expect to do as a Chef. Are you trying to make 999mil? Become the highest volume chef on the server? Provide only top shelf quality foods? Run a successful vendor, or just provide yourself and friends with good foods. If you are in this to make credits, always remember who's help you will need to get to the top.

To be honest here. No more schemtaics!!!

When I hear you guys will be charging up to 200k for a crate of brandy I reconcider.

I wont sell any schematics unless you pay through the roof for it.

I will however sell you crates of broad spectrum. I buytop qualityresources at as much as 7 cpu.

It takes 80 of them to make 1 unit. So it costs me 560Cr/tissue * 25 = 14000 for a crate.

But then I have to make small factory runs, travel to buy resources etc...

I will have to sell a crate of broad spectrum for atleast25k.

But then there are other betterways of making money for me than selling crates to chefs.

Its all very time consuming. So if I do its not to become rich...

I do however want a crate for myself every now and then.
