Hi all!
Since the revamp food was announced and we are aware of how they are going to be, I think it's time to discuss the price of the greatest Items and how much they will be sold.
The page I use as a reference:
http://home.comcast.net/~sciguyco/swg/FoodChart.htm

I think the Vasarian Brandy is going to be the most demanded one.
I think I am going to start selling mine at around 1200-1500 a charge. do you think this is excessive, fair, cheap?

other food like Garrmorl or Accarragm are going to be slightly cheaper I guess 1000-1300

I have no clue for what I should charge for items like Bespin Port or Ormachek

Go ahead now, your turn, how much will you charge for all the chef food (all of them not just the one I stated )

Nobody seems to care. I posted that I have made a cost per item spreadsheet, got one reply which basically said.. thats nice..

Charge what you want, but I will charge a little more than what it costs me to make the foods.

Sounds very high. Taking an 8 charge stack at your lower price makes the stack cost 9600. A casea selling for240K. At a power of 140 or so, I think your price is way over the top. I would never buy it. Maybe at 1k per stack I would buy. Even then I'm not sure considering I'd have to gulp two of them to get half the effect Fishak now gives. But, since this is the new Fishak, you may get away with 1K per stack and 25K per case.

For an item with a stack of 7ish that takes 80-90 resources I think 1200+ c/charge is extremely high. That is close to 100cpu. Your welcome to try and sell for that but your going to be undercut by people that do 30k per crate and that is still 10cpu on resources.

Charge per use is extremely hard to do also with the new system. 8 charge 100 power is better than 16 charge 50 power, but your prices seem to make the 16 charge one twice as much. There are 3(maybe 4 if your going to include duration) variables to consider. You can't base a priceing system on just 1 of the variables.

From what I hear it is selling faster than can be made on TC for 25-30k per crate. I can easily see 30-40k per crate for those with 12 exp points. That is still a huge profit, but I don't see a point in charging only 10-12k a crate if I can't keep them on the vendor for longer than 30 minutes.

mokai: what about the messages you got "I'll host the spreadsheet for you" and gave my email address etc. You didn't reply to that.

All gone. Nothing to see now. Bye Bye Ahazi most of you guys were cool

you are right, 1200 per charge seems high if there are so many charge in a crafted food, I guess I will stick around a 30k per crate. I might increase the price if I have all the special components (additive, large contaiers...)

30k per crate seems a little low, at least on my server Ahazi. On Ahazi the standard Fishak sells for 80k a crate. I sell mine at this price, and mine are always at 600+ mind. I see many others for sale with low to mid 500's, and they still seem to sell out at 80k per crate.

Now think about this. If you can experiment the brandy down to 33% filling, it means you can take 3 at once. Looking at the averages, it looks like u could end up with good ingredients a brandy of +150m/f/w, for lets say 36 minutes, with a filling of 33%. That means you can take three at once, for a total of +450mind/focus/willpower. While it's not +600 mind, I'd debate that the extra 450 focus and willpower more than make up for it, essentially making 3 Brandy's better than one fishak. Now, the typical fishak duration was 12 minutes.

If you get the brandy to 36 minutes, its 3x the duration. Remember you need to take 3x as many brandy's to get the same effect, SO, it works out the same. In the same amount of time you will take the same amount of brandy's as fishaks, for the same effect (maybe even better).

Thus, i would just say for starters, charge exactly the same as you did on fishaks.

That is a great point vukob. I may start out a little on the cheaper side since its still profit and that way people will be more willing to try it and once they use it, they will hopefully be hooked.

Ultimately my pricing will be, however high i can sell it and sell out just in time for the next batch to be ready. That is the optimal pricing for that product at that time.

When i started making fishak several weeks ago, i heard it was going on my server for 80k or so, but i felt bad charging that much so i started at 50k. Each batch I raised it cuase it was selling out too quick and people were bugging me about more.I stopped selling this week and i was up to that 80kprice. I still sold out easily and should have gone higher.

I know exactly what you mean about starting lower. I am a new master chef, only had it about a month, and when I got in, that 80k was the pretty much well established 'quality' fishak crate price. My very first ones I started selling at 50k, but they sold out within like 30 minutes. I ended up getting like 2-3 people who just bought all the crates. 50k is enough profit for me, but when they sell out that quickly, to a handful of individuals, it leaves everyone else outta luck. I raised my prices by 10k each time, continually selling out within hours. Finally at 80k, when i run two batches (40 crates), they last a day, or if i turn vendor planetary advertisement off, they tend to last a bit longer.

80k is one hell of a profit margin, but even at that price people dont blink an eye to buy it. Also figure in its kinda a pain in the ass to make, only able to make 19 crates plus change in a single factory run, and using reactive and radioactive, which has high quality spawns far less frequently than, say, 'berries', at least on my server.

I think a pricing scheme based on the number of charges is an excellent one. I also plan to price "per charge". The question you have to ask yourself is what the cost vs. benefit would be. How much is a reasonable amount for a person to pay for each 40 minute food buff? The price of a shuttle ticket? The price of two shuttle tickets? If they need the food buff to go out hunting for 40 minutes, the cost of the buff definitely shouldn't be higher than the value of all the organics he could collect in 40 minutes.

I think 200-500 credits per buff isn't an unreasonable amount.

Spaeking as an interested customer, please note that if the 40 min buff is less than 1200-1500 power, then no price makes it worth it. To those that need it the most and who can pay that and more, it will be useless.

Right now Fishak and Gloucose put combatants in that 1200-1500 range. So we can fight Krayts, Night Sisters, etc.

So take 2 shots of über effectiveness-experimented Vasarian Brandy (+500/+500/+500) and 2 bites of Vagnerian Canapé for (+0/+600/+600) for a total of +500/+1100/+1100 Mind/Focus/Willpower. There will be a difference, but it has its good sides with the bad.

Also, I don't know if the buffs listed in the table have BE additives at all, so it might be that using 100% BE enhancers you'll get +1000/+2200/+2200 - perhaps someone with this information might be willing to post it?
