Carbineer skills ie the numberous blocks in the carbineer table carry with them significantly fewer bonuses/specials, than the 1 line of carbines in the BH table.

It appears that the BH gains almost the same number of special moves, and stat bonuses in 1 line of skills, that we get in our entire table.

I am all for bounty hunters being badass, but I would like to see the carbineer table get filled out a little bit or something.

I will now only be taking the full-auto aoe line of carbineer skills, and I will take the carbine branch of bh, hopefully by the time I am done both of those, they will fix carbineer a little bit.

Go carbineers GO!

quote "6) Defense – Carabineer needs better defenses. It loses against Bounty Hunter and Pistoleer when using carbines."

Does a bounty hunter have better defenses than a carboneer? Or does this say that a bounty hunter should not win against a carboneer if he is only using carbines? You guys need to make your statements a bit more clear.

If you want to be a bad ass carboneer, get Bounty Hunter Carbine 4, and master carboneer. That will make you some crazy killing machine. If you just want to be half as good, try Archetect and master carboneer.

Oh, I see. So now, you can either be a BH or BH hybrid, or you're "half as good." If you can't equal them for similar combat investment, join 'em? Welcome to Bounty Hunters: An Empire Divided.

We get defensive bonuses, accuracy while moving bonuses, counter attack bonuses all of which are broken (from what I've read). These need to be fixed before true comparisons can be made.

We get 15 different specials, even if you just want tocount "pure" specials (meaning you remove burst shot 1 when you get burst shot2) we still get 7-9 unique specials. We get DOT attacks, AOE attacks, AOE knockdowns, and AOE status effects. We get specials that hit multiple HAM pools.

The BH gets a few more points in accuracy and speed and everyone gets on this "The BH is vastly superior to us in the carbine". I just don't get it, I just don't get it.

If you want to be equal to Bounty Hunters, than they should remove the pre-requirements to become a Novice Bounty Hunter. Lower the skill point cost from 160 to 35 then we can talk.

Novice Bounty Hunter . . . . . . . . . 160 Skill Points
Novice Commando . . . . . . . . . . . . 106 Skill Points
Novice Squad Leader .. . . . . . . . . . 78 Skill Points
Novice Creature Handler . . . . . . . . 49 Skill Points
NoviceCarboneer . . . . . . . . . . 35 Skill Points

FUZBY: if you want to be equal to bounty hunters, then you should correctly add up the amount it would cost, which is 247 skill points. That's the 'beam' line of commando's, master pistoleer, and master carbineer.

Equivilent to Master BH. . . . . . . . 247 skill points
Master Bounty Hunter . . . . . . . . . 217 Skill Points
Master Commando . . . . . . . . . . . . 163 Skill Points
Master Squad Leader .. . . . . . . . . . 135 Skill Points
Master Creature Handler . . . . . . . . 106 Skill Points
Master Carboneer . . . . . . . . . . 92 Skill Points
"Keep THAT in mind when you call NERF".

Wow, looks to me that the BH is getting three different weapons to choose from, funny how whenever they pull out the 'we pay more skill points than you do!' argument they just ignore that fact.

At one point I had bh carbine IV and master carbine. I had the extra 900xp so I detrained all the bh rows... and noticed they didnt make much of a difference.. So I gained an extra 70 skills points on all the useless scout and marksman skills I didnt even need. Master Carbineers are stronger than a BH Carbine IV, thats a fact.

the problem here is that they got BH's slightly wrong, a BH is supposed to bea skilled marksman, but the nature of their combat style is invention. They would employ a handful of very tactful means to trap or contain their opponent. This is not reflected in the game, as they instead were just given the cheapest and most powerful attacks they could design.

Where did this skill point thing come from.. Those are only in place to keep ppl from getting to high ranked skills.

Look at the total xp costs and you'll see the diff.

I'm a master carbineer and I've beaten a few BH with the carbine and pistoltree all the way up. The master carbineer's defenses and accuracy while movingis definitely better than the BH's. This is how one one of my duels went with a friend of mine who is a BH.

We start the duel and he shoots first cause he's faster and hits me with fire knockdown, I resist the knockdown but am dizzy, no matter I can hit stuff while moving. I charge shot him and lay him on the ground, hit him with crippling shot which does double damage while he's KD'ed, he gets up and I hit him with action shot 1, he kneels and bleeds, action shot 2, bleeds again and he's laying on the ground, I get up close because he's ineffective while prone andclose range, follow with a couple of crippling shots and he's done.

So all in all, I'm dizzy and half my HAM is gone because of my specials, but he only got one shot off. And no, he isn't a noob, he's killed alot of other players, I thinkI was lucky cause his fire KD didn't work but I do have a resist against it and he didn't.

So don't dog the carbineer, he kicks ass in duels, PvPing and even in group hunting/missions. All that and with 158 points to spare. I like it.

The comparison which is actually relevant to the argument is

Number of CARBINE SKILLS EARNED at mastery:

Bounty Hunter (Scout/Marksman/BH Mastery) : 12 including novice+ master BH and novice + master marksman

Carbineer (Marksman/Carbineer mastery) : 24 including novice+ master Carb and novice + master marksman

Camping, rifling, investigation etc. etc. etc. do not merit superior speed and accuracy with a carbine.
