Thread: This class is so broke..it's sad :(
Its been a full 2 months since release and our class still isnt balanced.
1.) As stated by many before me, our Elite Carbine is nowhere near Elite
2.) Our special moves are broke (Full Auto Area 1)or do not work as intended. Is the damage on some of them even worth the extra points?
3.) HAM costs seem pretty high? Is that intended?
4.) Have the Dev's given us any hope of boosting our class?
Why should someone spend 63 points to Master this proffession? The most useful stuff is at the bottom of the tree
Actually have you tried rifleman? I am a carbineer went rifleman and back to carbineer andit is my opinionthat is in even more dissarray than our own. The only profession that seems to be owning all the rest is...........

but then again riflemen can get muon gold, and they can drop a person in one hit in pvp with hs2, my sniper friend consistently does 3k+ dmg with headshots
melee guys do have it rougher than us tho i think.. actionshot2, special special special special special incap, thats how they fight would go between a carbineer and a melee guy, if hes lucky he'll get a few hits off on you
Let's clear up some stupid crap first.
1. 30 second kd/pc rule applies only to a target in pvp. PVE is uneffected.
2. Carbine is a heavier weapon than rifle or pistol. (Why do you all whine when actionshot2 hits multiple targets?) My guess is that it should. When you learn to shoot an M60, you learn how to fire in burst at groups before you learn to snipe a single target. Doesn't it make sense that with that kind of weapon you would be able to hit multiple targets for less dmg before you hit one target for high dmg?
3. The dumbest thing I've heard so far is "this class is broke because my gun ain't right." I'll admit that I have serious issues with the guns, but by that logic, marksman is in just as bad shape. I don't think that's the case. I can be a carbineer shooting a pistol, the fact that there is a bug in the pistol doesn't mean there's something wrong with the carbineer class.
As a carbineer, you have to realize that your class isn't going to compare directly with pistoleer or rifleman. The purpose of you weapon is completely different. Think about the general purpose of a carbineer and how it relates to the skills you have and you'll realize that the class itself just needs some tweaking.
Having said that, they need to fix the weapons so that it's actually worth buying higher cert carbines. The best carbine in the game right now is the laser. I bought an ee3 last night that barely beats out my e11 for stats and the e11 has light armor piercing abilities - EE3's have none. Also, all the stats except min dmg are higher on my laser than my EE3 and the laser gets all the bonuses for being a medium ap weapon.
I think that the balancing of this class will fall quickly into line if they fix the couple of skill bugs that we have and get the weapons straightened out. Until then, pick your favorite weapon and go kill stuff with the skills that work.

true but... Well, I use two wonderful DH17(2 different slices), one laser rifle (for distance and AP) and a DXR6 for acid. What's the use of elite Carbine ?

Those specials are not THAT broken. I am not very high in the carbineer tree but with the AS1/AS2/LS2 you can kill almost everything... Scatter line can help your riflemen friends... FullautoXXXX can have some fun added effects... And cripplingshot is, hem, very welcome to use

Of course if you spam fullautosingle... but without armor you can chain 3 or 4 specials with no harm. If you use an armor you need to be careful with your regen. I have NO ham issue with my DH17s (of course those ones are masterpieces with something like 10 20 10 in encumbrance)

They corrected chargeshot2. And they are working on gamebreaking and unbalanced content. Correct Commando, nerf CH, add new bugs and tints for tailors, this kind of stuff.
I like carbineer as it is. Go with 7 other carbineer and AE things, you'll like it.
