Carbines are very light rifles. M60 is a machine-gun. M60 is a crew-served weapon. It takes two people to properly work this weapon because this weapon is a machine. M60 is not used like Rambo used it. Properly-used M60 is mounted on a tripod with a TE (tracking and elevation) device on the tripod. This will make the machine shoot very steadily and accurately up to 1000 yards out. Rambo is bull. The M60 is very difficult to fire effectively from the hip. In trainingwe had in the Marine Corps we saw a machine gunner use the M60E3 to fire 100 rounds at 5 human profile targets 75 meters away. I'm not kidding when I say only one bullet clipped a target in a hit that would be survivable. This took over five seconds. On the same video a rifleman with an M16A2 was able to hit all five targets at their center-of-mass in five seconds.

Machine guns are used for different purposes than rifles, carbines and pistols. Just because the gun is 'bigger' doesn't mean it's necessarily better.

Machine guns are supposed to use burst. Also machine-gun barrels get hot. Very hot. In fact they can easily melt. The heat and pressure from an exploding round is intense. Fire it a few times in a row and the barrel is too hot to touch. Then the barrel can bend a tiny amount and you are no longer accurate. If you go beyond that you can see the barrel get red hot and then white hot. This is why there is a handle on the barrel, so you can take the barrel off during a break in firing. The assistant machine gunner has a spare barrel or two, and a big asbestos glovewith whichhe can change the barrel.

whoever said M16s are carbines are idiots. M16s are "gas operated, air cooled, 5.56mm firing" rifles. Max range 3534 meters, Effecient range of 550m Point target, 800m area target. Any high speed soldier in the US army can tell you that crap. So why would anyone say it's a carbine?? Just cause it has a burst mode? Please research!

And the most crappy part about carbineer being broken would have to be Charge Shot 2 which should be AE and KD but is neither still. Fix that please!

Mr. Lenaic FYI almost every standard issue firearm issued to our troops since World Wartwo were carbines. And even the germans big long Mauser 93k's were officialy known as carbines, AND THEY WERE 93 centermeters LONG! A real example of a rifle is the 3060 Spring field rifle which was issed as the main weapon in WW1 and was our main sniper rifle in WW2. There are VERY few true rifles which are full auto, and that is why the rifles in the game take so long to fire.

m16 is an assault rifle

m4 is a carbine version of the m16. how can there be a carbine version of a carbine?
