According to the Fencer boards, Scatter-type shots (Fastblast, Scatterhit, Scattershot) are going to get a "fix" in this patch, in that they were bypassing certain defenses before. I'm not sure what that means for us, but if there's any carbineers on test, maybe they can answer the question. I'm just saying this because I've noticed that Scattershot is my only chance to do ANY damage in PvP (it took me two minutes with five other people who missed every shot to take down a defense stacker, I have 230 accuracy +30 while moving with food).
Will we not be able to do any damage at all until the GCW revamp, or what? I didn't think it was unbalancing the game...

Read that thread with caution... it is obvious many of them don't know what is right/wrong about the shots/hits to begin with. Yes, they are getting fixed. Not nerfed, but fixed. Currently, they bypass melee toughness and food buffs, and that is a bug. They are getting fixed so that they do not do that any more. I have played on TC, and I can confirm that it is in fact happening. The shots/hits also seem to bypass some sort of defenses, though I am not sure exactly which ones. But I can tell you, on TC, the Jedi could not block them whatsoever, and blocking shots was quite easy on all other shots (using any other shot, the Jedi weer allmost untouchable).
What does it mean for us? You can expect to see less damage dealt with those shots to melee fighters and people with damage reducing food buffs such as sythsteak, and you can expect to see some reduction in hit percentage with them. What you will not see a difference in is damage against another ranged fighter who has not taken any damage reducing food buffs.

Its a pity then that 95% of the Rebels I fight are melee. Melee needs to be nerfed. Even with 215 accuracy, plus citros I have trouble hitting some of them.

I'd like to jam a litesaber sideways up a jedi's arse. Its going to get very interesting if they do indeed fix scattershot.

Well for those that want to know how ScatterShot2 is working, go read my Official Testing thread....
Those Fencers don't have a clue how OUR Special works, but I put the issue to rest with hours of testing.
Yes a few defenses were being bypassed by ScatterShot2 and those need fixed along with the Combat Log, but other than that OUR Special is not bugged or exploiting in any way.

LMAO. That's a classic.
I totally agree, I'd love to see the ranged professions excel.

My main question is, how does anyone who gets within melee range of a Jedi survive without an uber-Jedi resistant weapon? If you'll notice, Jango's entire strategy when fighting Obi-Wan was getting the hell out of Dodge with his jetpack and firing rockets. Any Pikeman, Fencer or Swordsman who pulled out their weapons against a Jedi would find it rendered useless instantly.
IMO, the name of the game with Jedi should be heavy ordinance (LLC, Commando weapons) and keeping the hell away.

So scattershot is supposed to bypass to some extent block, dodge, or counterattack. Well I hope so. When this new jedi patch comes out our chances as ranged people go out the window if we can't even hit them.
And I agree on the melee thing. Compaired to ranged they are so overpowered its not even funny. And the devs are talking about slowing us down as well as increasing their chances to hit us. I do know that as of right now I only have 15-20m of real distance to play with (ideal range) cause anything farther than that and I miss excessively and anything closer than 35m and I get the "lag lunge" which makes me peicemeal for the melee folks.
But its sad when professions complain about things for months and get squat from the devs. But when a jedi complains. POOF!!! The problem is gone.
I know alot of people like myself are waiting to see if the next patch makes star wars into jedi wars. If that occurs im going to have to drop the game cause pvp is the only thing that has kept me in the game this long.

well as long as the jedi are getting all the help we might as well work with it to our advantage. if tehy fix scattershot (i don't think its broken but w/e) and counterattack then that works for me, and we will get our balance sooner or later, but i think you will see in the future that we will be the only ones not to get a huge nerf in Combat balance

Devs also stated that Jedi are basically invulnerable to ranged, but they left them very weak to melee on purpose. TKA is supposed to really excell against jedi. I suppose TKA will be able to use BH terminals instead of BHs? I really would love to see this as a shooting game which is Star Wars, not Stick Wars. Fencers, TKAs, and Swords vs Lightsabers, with guns just being stupid.

I'm not up to date with star wars lore, but my understanding is that TK were there to combat Jedi, not bounty hunters. Bounty hunters are there to collect bounties, which usually were placed in smugglers...
And when they "fix" counterattack, I can very much imagine it will no longer prevent damage but will instead simply give a free attack but still take full damage... Then a considerable number of people will complain about it and want it to go back to being another form of dodge...
9,750 more to go...
