Thread: Posture change fix has gotta to be FIXED

This BS of a 30 second timer on the Action shot line has got to be changed. With this change I wonder if the Devs even play the game. With this change do they expect us to solo a blue creature at all especially at higher levels? NO. Not unless you have faction pets or get novice CH and use pets for dmg sponges. I guess they want everyone running around with pets in SWG. Anyone tried to run a level 60 mission without pets? If it was possible you had to have a large group and I bet people used posture change shots like mad. How many people would it take to attack a level 60 layer now that aggros?I read a post where someone was fussing because there was no crowd control method in SWG. Before I dissagreed, now I completely agree.

I understand that action shot and all the posture change attacks were possibly overpowered as they were, but a 30 second timer is not the solution. SOE has to go to extremes they do not understand small changes do they. An increased %chance to fail on high level mobs would be a better solution than a 30 second timer.Possible make the posture change duration less. This needs to be done in a manner that there is some form of crowd control in the game rather than force everyone to group with a MCH or become a CH theirselves.

The 30 second timer hasn't even affected my play style... I still do level50+ missions againstassisting mobs with ease. Would you like a tissue?

Hey bud, it's not my job to teach you how to have fun with a game. Everyone's different. THis IS a game. One of the challenges is that the world changes constantly. Adapt. If you only had one tactic in the past that required the use of action shot then maybe it's time to teach yourself some more. I seriosuly only use the actionshot shot linefor the bleed that it does... the posture change is just an added bonus.

Well before the nerf I used to use actionshot 1 and 2 for its posture changes and stackable bleeds. When I heard the nerf was comming I picked up CH and really enjoyed it. I got 2 pets I like to use, scrapper and pain. Now when starting combat I use action shots 1 and 2 for the bleeds, shout "Scrapper I choose YOU" and finnish up with leg shots.

SWG, gotta catch em all!

I dont mind that the game has turned into pet wars, I love the CH prof and I am just using carbineer to aid in my CH prof now but I will still skill up in it, why I have no idea. Prolly some misplaced hope that carbineer will b useful in the near future....

seriously, this is the carbineer forum. we're SUPPOSED to work together, we gain nothing by calling each other names. if you have ANY way of hunting high level mobs without using a pet, please share. i've tried to adapt my previous techniques, and the only way i can find is to get ina group with a ch, or use my own ch skills (gha, yeah, i've still got them. working on getting rid of them though. i REFUSE to rely on a pet to solo kill something i cannot kill on my own.)

and yeah, since you're new to posting on these boards, i read what else you've posted...and you at least have used a carbine or two, but my main question is...are you using pikeman skills to support carbineer, vice versa, or both equally important to you? again, honest curiosity here =)

What has got me ticked off about the actionshot change and prompted me to make this post is I got my A$$ handed to me by a female tusk cat. I was in a group so I dont know what the con was, but I believe theya re yellow to me SOLO. Yes they SHOULD kill me most of the time, but before the nerf I could solo that cat EASY as long as she didnt bring any friends . I got jumped by one out of nowhere. So I actionshot it, legshot and 2 guys that were with me started shooting it after they noticed I was being attacked. I healed myself twice during the fight and still died. You can only take 3 maybe 4 good hits by that thing and you are dead.I got the message "Your attack failed to change the posture..." Not "you can not peform this attack for xxx second" I thought they made it on a percent chance to fail so I kept trying to root it to get it off me so they could finish it. So it may have been partially my fault, but in the span ofabout 20seconds3 people could not kill that cat fast enough to prevent it from doing around 1600-1800 dmg to me (counting the 2 heals)

Look at it this way, If they are gonna implement the timer are you suppose to have a watch and stare at it to know when you can use it again. or you are going to have to simply make it an opener. So no there is no form of crowd control which forces you to have some sort of damage sponge.

This game should not be a game where EVERYONE picks up CH for dmg sponges. If anything Droids should be dmg sponges, that would be more starwars style. Not having a Huge dinosaur attacking for you.

yet again, would you mind SHARING your tactics? to everyone who's asked this question, the only response i've ever seen that was even half-way helpful was...warning shot is really nice (this was actually helpful, and i used to use warning shot a lot, but it got to where it wasn't working often/long enough to make it worthwhile)

so...if ya want me to beg for your new, non-pet killing red-con mobs, i will. right now i'm just asking.

"You dug your own hole, now lay in it"

Read that thread, than think next time when eveyone is spaming the boards with "there should be a timer on KD and PC". Other than that, you all got what you as a community were asking for, and flamed the hell out of the people who said this would be a bad idea.

Armor... and a melee class. LoL.

I could take on tusk cats with a full suit of mix-match armor (3 different armor types with composite on the vitals)with only 1hand sword3 in the brawler profession. No specials, just a straight-up, beat-em'up fight. Now, these were red conned critters to me with a sword but still doable if you can get a solo aggro.

This would also work with the same strategy if carbines did not miss 90% of the time in the marksman profession since my carbine is 0.4 faster than my sword and is roughly in the same damage range. (hopefully, novice carbineer and so on have a better timeat hitting stuff)

The way I see it when I'm using specials, even if I'm not wearing any armor, I'm still killing myself faster than these critters can than if I wear armor and just do regular attacks. Throw in a heal or two and there's practically no downtime. Except for the mind, but do a bit of stat migration and you are set.

Actually if you go to the DEs forum you'll see that the Devs are going to give them combat droids. They even asked what kind the DEs would like to see in the future. So in the future we'll all be able to run around with combat droids that are probably at the skill lvl of 15 lvl CH creatures we can get without CH skills.

It took me a few hours to get used to the change and it is true that it makes life a little harder but killing reds solo is still very possible....

I spendt 5h Satursday soloing Longhorn Picket on Dantoine ( sociable 10k ham animals) and I only got uncapped a few times....

Yes, I had to change tactics but in the end I rather like the change and it's forced me to do something else than the cheesy action shot 1 /leg shot 2/action shot 1... combo which really requires no skills at all and gets boring quickly

And no, I am not using any pet being droids, animals or faction pets....

I was a carabineer 0-2-0-1 and a doctor 0-1-0-1( no buffs yet)when I was doing that..
