Thread: Posture change fix has gotta to be FIXED

This BS of a 30 second timer on the Action shot line has got to be changed. With this change I wonder if the Devs even play the game. With this change do they expect us to solo a blue creature at all especially at higher levels? NO. Not unless you have faction pets or get novice CH and use pets for dmg sponges. I guess they want everyone running around with pets in SWG. Anyone tried to run a level 60 mission without pets? If it was possible you had to have a large group and I bet people used posture change shots like mad. How many people would it take to attack a level 60 layer now that aggros?I read a post where someone was fussing because there was no crowd control method in SWG. Before I dissagreed, now I completely agree.
I understand that action shot and all the posture change attacks were possibly overpowered as they were, but a 30 second timer is not the solution. SOE has to go to extremes they do not understand small changes do they. An increased %chance to fail on high level mobs would be a better solution than a 30 second timer.Possible make the posture change duration less. This needs to be done in a manner that there is some form of crowd control in the game rather than force everyone to group with a MCH or become a CH theirselves.

Yeah I would agree, make posture changes/knockdown fail on a certain %. Make this percentage dependent on the mob level. But I would pretty much make it so that it would not be worth the risk to solo a red. Pre-patch, reds were an absolute joke and I'm glad that's fixed.
About the pets, I dunno exactly how experience is handled? I'd say your xp should take avery big hit when using pets. Money is harder, I think that in most other MMORPG's you couldn't get money from this sort of "destroy mission" as easily as in SWG. As long as the system stays as it is, CH's keep getting rich quite easily.
I use no armor or melee damage..
mainly action shot 1 and 2 for bleeds and then leg shot 2 and warning shot...
10k ham animals tends to go down quickly this way.
The only npc I have trouble with currently are the melee humanoids on which warning shot doesn't work....
Warning shot works better if you are using a carbine sliced for speed btw.
This way if a warning shot fails to affect your enemy you can pump another one into him quickly...
While I haven't gotten the chance to play solo since the patch (just got back from vacation) I don't think that the 30 second timer is going to make soloing impossible. I think that they should have just removed the posture change from action shot all together, and made it a 15 - 20 second timer instead. Action shot is stupposed to be like mind shot and health shot for rilfes and pistols respectivley, thus there is no need for the posture change component.
Anyway, with supression fire working I fail to see this as a big deal, I don't think that any one should have too much trouble adapting to this change. Again I would like to see the time reduced somewhat, but even if it isn't I'll manage.

Kaellok:
Here's some tips for soloing:
First off get a really fast carbine, I have a DH17 90-150 1.7 speed (sliced).
Find non social animals, meaning they won't attack in packs.
I always start off with a charge shot from 64m or more away, then crippling, crippling, warning shot, crippling, warning, crippling, charge shot ... etc.
The key is to keep running and keep the animals away from you, they can't hit what they can't catch. You should be able to kill them with just a few crippling shots.
I hope this helps.

Action shot?
I never even noticed that it HAD a posture change until they added a message that said "your shot has failed to change your target's posture"... I use it for bleed, exclusively.

PS: Now I'd rather they remove the posture change entirely since it just spams my screen and doesn't seem to do any good since it fails more than it succeeds.
i only use it for bleed also or to peel off a mob on me or a group member. spamming posture change or knockdown needed to go. that was just too lame to begin with. if ya dont want a pet then pick up the trap tree from scout, there's plenty good traps and one acts like a snare, other like a root. or get explore4 also and use mask scent. it will delay a mob long enough to fire several vollies on it.
but seriously, if ya cant kill a blue mob then there's something immensly wrong with how ya kill stuff. even before novice carbineer or ch i had most blues dead before they reached me. then when i got it i used it heavily for afew daysand it just felt wrong so relied on traps and picked up ch so i never needed it. when i soloed a dark jedi master with someone healing my action pool, even i said on boards to nerf it. all it did was cheapen kills and took the fun and thrill away from everything. not to mention ruined pvp. i dont even use charge shot. i only used it sparingly before the nerf for comedic value of watching a npc fly backwards. i dont even waste my hotkeys with it hehe.
