There is no cap (basically that wasstated in the CU Docs) and you didn't tell me anything about what your template is so I must assume you only have +12 Speed.....so you have a long ways to go to reach the 'soft cap' that Specials cause

well i got 127 carb speed? too much? excessive?

i understand there is no cap, but what would the speed be the reach the soft cap on specials?

i.e. at 100 speed, anything extra does not have a major impact on damage....

just wonderin if i need to continue collectin speed tapes, or is 127 really enuff...

thanx...

Gives you a total of 132 speed (145 with your clothes), if i didn't miss something. Where your personal breaking point is, you have to find out for yourself, in my personal taste, that's already over the limit where increasing speed still makes sense.

I just did a lot of digging to find this formula here again:

actual speed=weapon speed*(0.5231+0.4769*2^(-speed/46))

Either i am blind, or it's not in the FAQ where it would belong...

"+ 25 is the cap on clothing"

This is working as intended

Somewhere between +100 and +125 I found little added effect of more Speed in my testing. Personally anything over +100 Carbine Speed is enough.

I'm capping my speed all I can to max it out.

The reason why is that I am going to get a carbine experimentated for damage and SAC, with little speed reduction.

Add to that I'm going to use max damage powerups (which lower the speed buy roughly 11-15%), I'm not sure that speed of 100-120 would be enough.

Be delighted for anyone elses input.

For me accuracy is just as important, but I'm not sure about carbine aiming, it doesn't seem to stack like the devs mentions.

I am running a simular setup where Ive got speed high but my carbine is SAC/Damage biased.

Problem is want to trade in +15 speed for anadditional+30 melee, +25ranged defence and +5 accuracy.

My current speed is 146. That would it bring it down to 131 although I could add another +9 on force speed and when i can get my hands on them another +25 using general ranged speed.

I made my statement of what I have seen since the CU hit Beta.....but each person can choose to do what they want.

And no none of my new Carbines are experimented on Speed and no I don't use Speed PU's but my ~100 Carbine Speed will fire within a few % of anybody else even up to +140 (not counting Adrenal Buff).

Ah, I just did a basic test, removed +16 points of Carbine speed and it did a huge difference to my effective carbine speed !!!

Actually, it didnt, i was being sarcastic. My carbine speed went from 1.31 to 1.35. DPS (oh dear said the dirty word) went from 568 down to 555.

Nothing material unless somewhere tell me different (comment away).

Actually youwill seemuch less of a change in damage done and kill time on a target, the listing on the Weapon Examine Window is generally regarded as being next to worthless (only time it is good is when the DPS is increased via Damage and not Speed). The speed limiting factor is the 'soft cap' created by the Cooldown/Cycle Timers on all Specials.

You can have around +200 Carbine Speed and a -0.90 speed weapon and still fire about every 3 seconds with Leg Shot just like I do with +100 Carbine Speed and a 2.0 speed weapon.
