Thread: Good bye Carbineer
Sure you won't get the melee penalty as rifle had, but you'll be getting terrible damage, pretty crappy weapons, half of the skills are broken, none of the mods ever did a **edit** thing.... in other words horrible broken class.
I am not carbineer - well I've messed arround a little with marksman skills but still the class can't be that bad. I read the post about the 4 carabine types. The carabineers are getting some pretty nice weapons. I've seen a person with a carabine solo a krayt dragon(that's why I'm reading about the class)- that was before the patch of course, which screwed you guys big time but I don't think the class has turned into something unplayable. Carabineers get some cool guns and nice shots. I read that a guy with full auto does from 1500-3000 damage. I think a carabine with a CH might be an awesome combo. Send the pet to take the damageand then stay in the back and kill them one by one.
Anyway - remember that the class and the game as a whole is evolving constantly. I think that maybe they'll create more carabines- weapons for the elite carabineer profession tree. I think that some of the AP weapons are broken plus you never know when the weaponsmiths are gonna come with awesome guns - it's all a question of resources(and krayt draggon tissue ( that gives the gun 30??? extra damage))

that's what's got me pissed off...the forced reliance on PETS to tank, or getting killed. the new 'melee tanks', i read about the /tank ability, and it will NOT, EVER replace even a 5k, ar1, 50% energy/50% kinetic pet tank. that's a gronda..andlots of ch's hate tehm because theyre 'weak'.
a change to kd/pc, yeah...that needed to happen to prevent people from soloing krayt dragons. but people are STILL soloing krayt dragons. it just takes pets instead.
yeah with my laser carbine I easily do 2k+ hits with fullautosingle but I also sometimes do 210 with the exact same special (yeah this is due to the laser carb damage range) the real problem is that it costs me 179 to fire that special in the first place, and also that I mostly do 0 damage with the special since the mob is hard to hit at ideal range (due to mob movement) and at Point blank (due to negative modifiers).
I can't blame you for dropping carbine, you really have to want to be one if you just picked up guns or just started your char (same goes for rifle) I won't go more into this now, as I posted my views in the "how has last patch affected your accuracy" post.
But I will repeat this, part of the reason why there are so many pistol users is, carbines and rifles.

Can you read? Or you're still on the second book in hooked on phonics? I said "without my pets." I kill plenty, but not because of my carbineer skills. They are all broken. At master I am still using FullAuto 2 because Cripple doesn't do much more damage and FullAuto blinds, although blind seems to only lower accuracy on ranged fighters.
This was more a post about the brokenness of carbineer and not my actual performance. Try to read posts and understand them before you comment.
Hehehe... I abandoned my carbineer, caribinier, carbeener *bah* however the dev's are spelling it this week...
Since then have moved on to Shadowfire with a fresh avatar and am moving up the smuggler chain.... it has GOT to be better than this!
