Ijust droppedMaster PistoleerforCarbineer, and I'minfinitelymore happy withCarbine.
Pistolhasnostatus attacks (stun/dizzy/blind),no ranged knockdown,and one armorpiercingweapon that you get atNovice Pistoleerthatdoesacid AP1 damage (and it'sbroken, the DX2 issupposed todoarmor piercing, butit's not). I was shocked thatI hadaccesstoanAP2weaponat CarbineIIIunder the Marksman profession.Also,having aselection ofAP weaponswithdifferent damagetypesis great. IfIran intoanarmoredmobwith high acid resists witha DX2, Iwas screwed.
However,I am strugglingwiththe higher HAMcostswith Carbineer. Fortunately, Ihave First Aid IVand Pharmacology IV, and can fully healmyself inoneshot. After Exploration I, I thinkthoseare thetwo handiest skills in thegame. Butwitha widerarray ofattacksand weapons,I'll happily chew thrusome stims.
If you leave Carbineer,Idunno whereyou'll go. Every profession hasit'sproblems. I sayjust playwhat you enjoy,becausewith theratechanges are being made thiswill bea completelydifferentgamein three months.

Yes I can read, (there's no reason to get mad and attack my intelligence) and yes you are not a master (you just have thetitle)if you can't kill anything without your pets. I just killed a Jedi Padawan that had medium armorwith80% resists. It just takes a little kiting and some medic skills.
Besides, the only 2 broke shots are charge shot 2 and legshot 3 everything else pretty much works as described.
What I'm saying is that people bitch about a really good profession, when they haven't tried the other ones out yet. I think carbineer is great, I'd pick it over pistoleer, rifleman, or any melee any day.
Does the BH Carb tree help a lot if you take that too?

This was more a post about the brokenness of carbineer and not my actual performance.
You obviously have not really evaluated the skills (or read through the forums) if you think they mostly work. Let's go down the list again for the kids in the back of the class.
ActionShot 2 - this appears to be the only working skill in the class, although there is some debate over whether it is supposed to hit multiple targets as it does.
FullAutoSingle 1 - this is supposed to blind, stun and dizzy. Dizzy lasts for 0 seconds. Stun is broken. According to its description, it should cause 1 missed combat turn and lowered stats. I have tested this with a fellow carbineer and it does neither. Blind appears to have no effect on melee attacks, only ranged attacks.
Scatter shot - this appears to be working ok but the damage amounts do not show properly. All hits register as 1 damage.
Wild shot - this works as promised. It stuns the target. Problem is, as mentioned above,stun is broken.
Leg shot 3 - does the same damage as legshot 2.
Cripple shot - this barely does more damage than fullAutoSingle 2. Pretty worthless when fullAuto is supposed to blind, stun and dizzy.
Burst shot 1 - what is this even for? Really? When you have fullAuto and cripple shot? Burst shot doesn't do more than either of those, so this is worthless.
Burst shot 2 - no better than burst shot 1.
Suppression fire 2 - doesn't work.
FullAutoArea 1 and 2 - same problems as FullAutoSingle. Blind, dizzy and stun are broken.
Charge Shot 1 - this is actually bugged but in a positive way for us. If you haven't figured it out, I'm not telling cause it would get fixed tomorrow.
Charge Shot 2 - doesn't do group knockdown. Doesn't even knock down the target.
I think you should be questioning the validity of your own master title as you seem to fail to really understand how any of the skills are actually working, despite what they say they do.

Wow, this is rather shocking. ChargeShot2 is theattack MasterPistoleers erroneouslygot with DisarmShot2until itwas fixeda couple weeks ago. It workedbeautifullyforPistoleers. LOL
Thanksforthe insight on whichstyles are broken. I thinkI'vedecided tolevel upthe Marksmanship andSpeed lines fornow, and hope thestyle attacks are fixed in the meantime.
Yes, the BH Carbine skills help, if for nothing else than the speed and accuracy improvement. I'm +95 carbine speed, +135 (+100 really) accuracy.
I gave up ChargeShot1 when I got FireKD and Underhand Shot. How is it bugged in a favorable way? I could get it back (plenty of Combat XP) if it's currently useful...
I gave up all my bh skills. People were always complaining to me when I killed them, even when I was wearing my appropriate title (of course they complain just as much when I sick my pets on them). Plus the fact that I hated the missions and thought I could build a better pvp character that was not a bh with all the wasted skill points in scouting and rifle.
Since I haven't been using it that much, and I've seen another post on it, the bug with charge shot 1 is that the kd timer does not work on it. You get the message that the kd failed, but your target will fall again anyway. You can kd to your heart's content.
What I've ended up with now is:
- Carbineer 2-3-1-? (surrendered one, maybe two in the last column)
- Bounty Hunter 0-4-0-2
- Medic 1-0-4-0 (I can use Stim Ds with experimented med use 40)
- I ran my mind up to 940, Willpower to 600. I'm my own pet: I just heal myself massively now and then during combat.
Interesting news about ChargeShot1... guess I'll have to re-learn that one.
The best damage I can do is with my LLC: I hit a Tusken last night for 10315 with that thing (new personal single-hit best), but a KD move that works more than once would sure be handy ![]()
