Thread: Nyms slugthrower- worth doing the quest?

New to carbine and was wondering ifthis quest is worth doing for the weapon or am i better off buying a specific type of carbine.
Ps anyone know how to get my nym faction up?

if you are new to Carbiens in that you do not have any Carbine in the Marksman line then yes it is worth it to have a Nym's to get you to carbines IV
if you have Carbines IV and are looking to get into Carbineer, than no, it is not worth the quest to get the thing...unless of course you are just looking for more game content (there is so little of it that you will most likely end up running the quest in a desparate search for something to do anyway)

I enjoy the slugthrower better then any other carbine. Better damage spread then the laser carbine, and one of the lowest HAM for AP 1 and acid damage. Nice damage especially with a good slice. I love it.

My nym's got a speed slice and is still kinda slow. It has good damage but for acid i woudl rathe ruse my speed sliced DXR6, less damage but faster and 1/2 the ham. I may just have a bad stats nym's....

Man some servers must have some realy crappy resorces for the DXR6. Just an avrage dxr6 on my server is by far better than the slug. Also that slug has NO bonus to ideal range meaning you will miss a lot lot more. But in responce to the post...Yes do the quest its a cool looking gun to hang on the wall and the quest dosent take long.

no you do not just have a bad stats Nym's. they are all exactly the same. another problem with the gun. you can slice it, power it up....and that is it. there can be no exceptional resouces used, there can be no Master Weaponsmith using a shiney new experimentation aprin, there can be no Imperial theme park loot stocks, no exeptional scopes...no nothing.
yes it is a good gun, but it can never become a GREAT gun

The DXR-6's must definitely vary a lot across servers, because on Scylla I have yet to find one better than my sliced Slugthrower.

You get the actual gun. To get the quest, talk to Nym in his palace on Lok.

yes you get the gun from Nym when you give him some quest items he asks for.

bah so you can only get one then when it critical failures no more slugthrower?
well of course unless you buy it from some one which may be expensive since its loot only

On sunrunner the slugthrower is basically a better version of the dxr6. However they are close enough together that the real benefit of the slugthrower was the fact that the cert was free. Now that has changed its probably easier to just buy the dxr6. Anyway the quest isnt that hard and the gun looks better than a dxr6.
