Thread: I became a Carbineer to be DIFFERENT.

Although I would like to become a Boba Fett clone or w/e (despite the fact that I'm a pink wookiee ), I still prefer to be different from other people. I became a Carbineer because everybody was rifleman, tka, etc etc an uber profession of sort. I'll admit carbines aren't that good sometimes as much as other professions' weapons, but out of the majority, I wanted to be the one that stood out in a crowd, and maybe hear something from someone like, "Hey look, it's that lone Carbineer! " in a crowd of 80 or so where everybody was either rifleman or tkm or etc.

Am I the only one who had athought like this before becoming Carbineer?

PS: I prefer to use Slugthrowers

I like being the only one. I do like the differences. I just don't see why people go out and play a game just to 'pwn' other players. They just try to become to be the best class tomake their gaming experience as easy as possible. These are the same people that say the combat system doesn't need to be fixed and armor, buffs, ETC. are fine.

^^ To be honest, I prefer to DIE with professions like Carbineer than WIN with professions like TKM.

I have been a carbineer since launch. Reason? I just like the idea of using an assault rifle. Although I have been many professions with carbine; TK, BH, CM, SL, Ranger, yada yada yada.

Going off the reason why I started, to the reason I have kept it. Mostly to be different, I remember when I use to beat almost anyone in a 1v1 fight with carbines, and I also know now that I have fallen into much more of a support role. I have been tempted to switch to a 1v1 template again, but even when carbine was great at 1v1, it still wasn't all that popular. So, I like being part of the few in the carbineer crowd. I don't think I could handle being a rifleman when 40% of player population is that, or like another 40% as in melee stackers.

Plus carbine is fun . I just want a blast shotgun type carbine to blow holes through them turrets at Mos Syn and SL!

Carbineers may be not be as powerful, but i play for fun. As a swordsman i killed NS, 6 at a time. No big deal, no sense of achievement. As a carbineer i still take on 6 at a time. And i still don't die, but its intense. I panic, i get to 200 health, 1 more good hit and i am finished, with 4 still on me. But you use the great specials , you use stims or whatever, and you win. Then you get to /flex. cos you had fun.

Most people just do not get that. You don't really understand what its like to play the game until you've pushed the limits. There's no fun in overpowering a game so severely its not a challenge anymore.

My guild leader sank an incredible amount of resources into building a 17 base battlefield on our server. A mixed bag of Rebel and Imperial bases. There's a cluster offive Imperial Forward Outposts that we make a game out of. You run around each of the bases, aggroing every cluster of stormtroopers you can, then take the whole damned army on in a round robin. Some of us duck inside the faction bases to avoid calamity with the AT-STs patrolling. I don't. I like having to sweat my ass off against 20+ Stormtroopers while three or four AT-STs circle around. Some days you can get the AT-STs to follow you near a Rebel base and you can use the NPC patrolsto tank while you beat the crap out of the walkers. I've done 3 AT-STs in 15 minutes using that method. I've posted on another thread about going one on one in a stand up slugging match with an AT-ST with a DXR-6 and dropping the damned thing.

I don't play a Carbineer to pwn, I play a Carbineer to win.

I've been seriously contemplating Carbineer since it is so rare, and reading this post just made my mind up for me.

Heck I might even go for the total gimped template and master Pikeman too

Carbineer is ONLY for people that like to THINK about every move they make in combat......if that is not you, then run away from here ASAP.

For those of "mature thinkers" left....we have a blast....but you must know what you can and can not do as well

Long live to the carbines, and may we be balanced! Then we'll truely rock!

...Even if we do rock already

Want to hear about the old Kudaark? huh?
Vangeance he seeks from those who took away his Loved One
But never an innocent or a helpless one will he harm
For he is a Protector, fearsome and fearless in battle
