I'll admit carbines aren't that good sometimes as much as other professions' weapons, but out of the majority, I wanted to be the one that stood out in a crowd, and maybe hear something from someone like, "Hey look, it's that lone Carbineer!
" in a crowd of 80 or so where everybody was either rifleman or tkm or etc.
Am I the only one who had a thought like this before becoming Carbineer?PS: I prefer to use Slugthrowers
I too use a nyms, or at least carry one. why? simple vanity. its the best looking carbine for others. They can see the stock, it looks classy.
Carbineers may be not be as powerful, but i play for fun. As a swordsman i killed NS, 6 at a time. No big deal, no sense of achievement. As a carbineer i still take on 6 at a time. And i still don't die, but its intense. I panic, i get to 200 health, 1 more good hit and i am finished, with 4 still on me. But you use the great specials , you use stims or whatever, and you win. Then you get to /flex. cos you had fun.

the very good point, is that knowing how to use carbines is very rewarding cause it offers a cool challenge to the smartest PvPers and duelists, as you play in a different way than anyone else, than all those 12yo FOTMers spamming the "best" hit with their "uber" weapon. and when I lose a duel, it's always in good terms, cause the opponent is NEVER expecting such resistance from a carbineer, so we usually end up discussing about carbines and carbineer things, so actually it's a profession -IMO- that is interresting to those who are tired of the usuals "uber defense" templates and want to reintroduce tactics in their style.
Yeah, I love when some FOTM melee stacker or rifleman actually challenges me to a duel. They expect an easy win, they get a very difficult battle that ends up in my favor 75% of the time. Why, because I use tactics. Even though I have only warcry 1, I'll still use it right off the bat, then do intimidate second... Then I start going for either the dizzy or the KD depending if their a doc/stacker or not, almost all my duels last over 4 minutes (Always have chest, helm, gloves, boots, PSG, and synthsteak along with full buffs.)
I am almost always walking around overt too, and 50% of the time by myself. Carbine is the best for people who can think on the run.

From now my motto will be "Carbineer... it's a life style!"

Hello fellow carbineers.
I'm another one that's been a carb since launch. I've not played the last two monthes and now i find myself a bit stranded. Can some of you point me to a very good weaponsmith on the Eclipse server?

For carbines I usually go to lefteris (zeus mall) or shimmery. I sometimes stock my vendors with sliced carbines from lefteris (abit better than shimmery's ones, lower min damage)
PS: I'm not stocked with carbines atm, will restock by the beginning of next week if not earlier. wp in the sig.

Yes, actually I'm working on Carbineer just to be different too. I don't care about owning everyone in PvP, or able to solo every creature by spamming the same attack over and over. I want to do what I think is fun. And that turned out to be Bounty-Hunter and Carbineer. As a matter of fact, my previous character was a Bothan, just to be different too, but I accidentaly deleted that one

I was a Carbineer for 10months, The first day i played in early July of last year some guy gave me a Carb and i stuck with it.Then back in May, May 10th to be exact at 345pm i dropped Carbine. From there i moved to smuggler/pistol then to swords/fencer/brawler then dropping swords for Pike.I MISS MY CARBINE!!! Sure its not the uberest of weps but its the best.I just had a buncha new carbs made and im giving up my defense stacking melee pvping ways, I just wanna have fun again and wear my Maruader title, hehe Its not how good or bad the prof. is its how you carry yourself and your attitude using that prof. And for me any Proffession can win pvp, it comes down to tactics thats all.

For those of "mature thinkers" left....we have a blast....but you must know what you can and can not do as well
I don't have a whole lot of melee / ranged defense in my template, so I HAVE to play a support role. The REALLY funny fights I have is when I'm getting attacked by a group of people and I try and fight them all

In reply to the original post.
Being different has always been somethingI liked. When i heard bh requirements were dropped I knew i had to try carbines then....it wasnt too promising to be a master carbineer alone but having master marksman and bh carbs really improves it greatly. I can say carbineer/bh is a blast to play. I couldnt stand swordsman too easy and boring. Carbines does require a little morestrategylike the other posters mentioned. I tend to play unbuffed alot have just about no defense aside from a few pistol defenses i really have really be careful if i want to take a group of storm troopers, make sure i line them all up for /chargeshot2 and when they go down actionshot2 themtake them down 1 by 1 afterward
Carbine of choice: Stocked/Scoped Laser Carbine, may not be effective in all situations but with bh fire kd and crippleshot and scattershot on the right npc/mob its lethal at 50 meters hehe.

I heartily voice my affirmation of this
)
In other words, I chose to be a carbineer from launch (and subsequently took me 6 months to master), along with being a doctor from launch. I too enjoy just using different attacks and strategies at times rather than just the same "xxxshot/hit 3" all the time, and cause I thought carbines sounded cool
Unfortunately, I took a short break from them after mastering it (BE, then Swordsman), but am back to my original 'template'.
