I'm not a number cruncher like atlo of you guys seem to be, I'm just a casual gamer.

I'm working my way through Carbineer, but I seem to get my butt stomped by alot of things that probably should be easier for me.

I'm using a sliced DXR6, does 140-220, and I can usually coax about 270 at times...

Here's my question... how the heck are people able to do TEN TIMES OR MORE damage than that? Am I doing something wrong or is my weapon really just that crappy?

I would LOVE to be able to solo Janta/Kunga/Mokk lairs, but I can't even seem to do one while buffed without getting stomped...

Help a guy out, please?

Weapons is crappy, use a laser carbine, buy like 5 keep the speed ones only to grind until master and pray for a damage slice.

Ok.. I've had one of those on me for a while and just didn't use it because it seemed alot of thing were vulnerable to acid (or at least there resist was lower).

Check my combat logs, I'm pushing 3k when I use my specials... but the tear the heck out of my HAM... is there any way of doing this with buffs or food?

I did underhandshot/scattershot/cripplingshot and took a piket plains walker down half way, but I burned up my health and action in the process...

There's gotta be SOMETHING and unbuffed and hungry Carbineer can do here.

Low level in any prof is hard....but your armor and buffs should keep you alive long enough to kill any of that stuff you mentioned.

For PvE I recommend getting a tank especially at lower levels because your speed and accuracy are low.

BTW, I hope you read the FAQ

I'm actually about halfway through Carbineer, just seems like I keep getting spanked alot more than I should be. I've trained though the Acuraccy tree and I'm work on the final Speed box now.

I was just hoping there was a better way than having to be grouped or buffed.

Unbuffed....don't expect to do anything....with any prof.....

And this game is all about buffs/armor and solo groups....

Sorry that is the way it is for everybody, not just Carbineers....

Warning/Threaten shot are your friend. Love them... use them.

All Mobs (not npc's) will eventually turn tail and run after you nail em a few times with warning shot. Eventually, they'll go into slo mo mode. Makes it possible to solo just about any non-NPC mobs. Rankors can be a bit rough if your unbuffed thou.

It is also important to remember to immediately /peace after successfully getting your target to run away from you after a /warningshot. If you spam warning shots then the creature will turn back around to attack before getting a good distance away.

I mastered rifleman back before buffs were used with this tactic against giant baz nitches. Granted, that was before the bleed DOT nerf, but with buffs it will still work good. In fact, I used it the other day to get rifles IV.

Ways to make it much easier to solo bigger mobs unbuffed.

1. Pick up novice medic. Pick up a crate of good stim B's (400+) Spam 3 specials, heal yourself, rinse and repeat. If mob is very big (12K HAM+, keep some muon, canepes or brandy around in case you need to do alot of healing)

2. Already said: Get a nice tank/pet. Send the pet in, then you can sit back and pick off targets, usually without them aggroing on you, although slow without medic due to such high HAM costs of Carbine specials.

3. Food... look into it.
