Hi,

I will appologise beforehand for this rant - its not normally somthing i would do and probably will not again

Whats going on ??

I understand that other classes may use carbines but why are carbineers the only class getting Mk2 copouts - just upgrading old weaponry

Squad leaders getting a new carbine i am fine with as it might give theclass more players and more players will be needed anyway to give groups that combat bonus.

Ihave read that commando's are getting the photon carbine ( whether this is true or not i dont know - most ppl think they see it on master commando - but thats photon grenade ). Commando's are also getting some new vibroknucker, a new flamer etc

Another thing ( this may change i dont know ) but all the commando tree's are heavy weapons xpexcept the combat xp tree ( you also dont need carbines in marksman to become Commando )

Commando cost no more points than Carbineer when the CU comes in so why are they being given extra. I understand squad leaders getting a new carbine as it might give theclass more players.

While i know its only a different weapon model you should be more worryed about the damage - i would still like somthing new for the class i have chosen as the whole point of the CU is to balance out the game

commando has the proton rifle atm, mbh has proton carbine, commando does cost more pts then carbineer only because it has to get novice brawler and novice marksmen, hope this helps a little.

hopefully the devs clear up some more of the certs, sofar there are atleast two carbines thats certs are unknown, the bothan carbine and geonosian carbine.

I'm very sad to see that Carbineer is not getting the Proton Carbine.

for the 3 seconds i logged on the E11 looks great. i have no weapons right now and i have a lot of catching up to do to get to novice carbineer and i don't even want to think about making it to MBH without the frog, already gunna have to do that on Live... but oh well if it would just stop dropping back to the loading status

You need to read the Dev Tracker and see what is really being tested.....nothing wrong with the Frogs.

While I can imagine everyone wants frog-given skills, that would mean no part of the grind would be tested. In all likelyhood then, much of the CU would go to live very bugged. Grinding a temporary toon on TC may seem like a drag, but we will all benifit from getting issues identified and corrected before this thing goes to the live servers.

I did not check the stats last night 4-7-05 but prior to that a Master Carb got at least the (around)FORTH most powerful carbin, not the most powerful.......I will say it again the "specialty or exclusive if you will" ranged professions Carbs, Rifles, Pistols should be able to use ALL thier respective weapons. Sure give SL,Commando,BH some cool weapons but just make sure the specialists (sp) get the cert also.......Thats fragging why there specialists...............Or at the very least make sure the specialty professions have the best weapons at master.....not some gimped out "elite" weapon...........

actually proton is going bh too. we got that nice new e11 i classify that as a new weapon thats the weapon you think of when you think carbine I think it was a great move on their part. But i'm sure one of the remaining carbs will be carbineer specific

So...I am a little dumb-founded after reading this so I will just ask to clarify:

Is it correct that right at this present moment we have been given a total of 1 new carbine?

The certs are still undecided on 1 or 2 but we are getting one? Well...if thats true its deflated the excitement I've been feeling for some months over the new guns...
