Thread: Guys, PLEASE help pursuade me to keep Master Carbineer...

I need help! I did the grind and my unlocking prof was Carbineer. I really like it, the idea of it and the specials too. Damage output, even in PvE is however RUBBISH as the speed is so pathetically low. I have a good laser carb (600 max dge with PuP) and high sliced Elites and DXR6 etc but its a struggle.
I am working to Master CH at the moment as that was my first love. I want to keep carbineer but I have started to level Rifleman with my spare skill points as the damage output of carbineer is just too weak. I cant level CH effectively on my own and I cant really hunt high end content quickly enough. Also, the states never stick on any half decent mob so they kinda dont get used 
There is no stun weapon, acid and energy are resisted by most everything, PvP included
Carbineer is now FOTM amongst BH as they get huge speed and a good KD but I cant spare the skill points with MCH to go BH.
Will the combat rebalance make Carbineer viable? I am not convinced and in any event its ages away. PLEASE help me. I really want to keep MC but I am running out of skill points and Rifleman is just the daddy at PvE with MCH......argh!

Give pistoleer a try if you think we are so sucky. I am sure you will be back in a week lol. My only complaint about this class is the fact I need to shoot past 90% composite only to damage a healable pool in pvp. Ok I do have one other complaint... uber mobs ammune to state attacks and the fact that I cant touch them due to every weapon I own is 100% resist lol. Thats about it really.

You'll have to wait a long time for the combat revamp.
You can still do the 4 boxes in BH, keep master CH, and go 0/4/3/4 in Carbineer. You cap on speed, have great accuracy, and good specials.

I have mastered every combat class in the game so I know that Carbineer isn't the worst. Just one of the worst 
Bake that is a good idea - I hadn't thought of doing that. I will go and compare the difference....

RIght I have checked this out. At Master Carb with Master Marksman I get:
140 Accuracy
65 Speed (RUBBISH!)
105 Counterattack
30 Accuracy While Moving.
With BH 0/4/0/0 and Carbineer 0/4/3/4 I get:
170 Accuracy
85 Speed
60 Counterattack
20 Accuracy While Moving.
I lose alot of counterattack but does this really matter? I also lose Scattershot2 and Wildshot2 but they are rarely used are they?
Looks good. Only real concern is the lack of defence but in PvE would that matter too much?

Ch seems to be useless in PvP so I assume you are referring to PvE my laser is less max than yours and using FAS2 I can hit from 800-2400 a shot!!! I dont know how that translates to FAA2 but I can Kill large groups in a decent amount of time and I can Chargeshot2 and KD at least half of them!!!
If the Issue is Speed then get a good WS to make you some carbines focusing on speed and buy enough that you can guarantee a few will be speed sliced. I know the IMP stocks help alot but not sure about other components. We have alot of really good(working) attacks and alot of AOEs that rock!!!
I personnally can AOE the crap out of any mission if i have a "tank" and as a MCH you will have plenty of tanks, I just use my TKM buddy and we do about the same damage to a group of 10 creatures/NPC

Am I right to infer you are using damage slices? What is your total carbine speed? +60?
If your answer is yes and yes (or the number is very close to 60), you need to go check out the speed section of the fact. It nicely explains why a person in your situation needs to be using speed-slices.

At +60 Carbine Speed our best Specials fire at the Weapon Speed, so I understand your frustration (your damaged sliced Laser is probably around 4.0 Speed, ICK!!!).....but you haven't LEARNED how to BE a Carbineer. Having a Master Title in no way shape or form means a person has mastered the profession. Now this is nothing against you personally, we see this all the time on this Forum. And for most, a Carbineer is NOT a good profession for their play style.
My suggestion is get the proper weapons and you will like Carbineer much better.....throw in some SEA's too. I absolutely loved Carbineer and CH together and I am slowly working to get it back.
But I will not try to pursuade you to keep Carbineer if it doesn't match your play style.....a Carbineer's best weapon is the MIND. If that doesn't fit you, then try something else as this game is all about having FUN, which is different for each person. But Carbineer is far from the worst combat prof in the game today....

Scatter shot is VERY underated and Crippling shot is VERY overrated.
Scatter shot is my bread and butter when it comes to dmg, i rarely use cripple, and yes I am speed capped.

PST.....at ANY speed they do identical damage....ScatterShot divides it among the 3 pools better but battling a 100k+ HAM creature and they will be identical in DPS and kill time.

All depends on the situation ,and I was speaking more for PVP.
need to hit themind pool anyway we can more often than not.
