I was thinking about becoming a carbineer when i had this thought. In pvp should carbineers who pvp in a group be with other professions or with outher carbineers?
It seems tome that 5 carbineersfiring Chargeshot2 into a group of 5 mixed professions would have them all on their backs and hurting.
The another lightbulb came on ... If the statement above is true, I was thinking a PVP orientated carbineer guild should be formed (on bloodfin) Useing the services of a master smuggler and the "Mercenary" title the guild could flip sides back and forth.
Heh ... Just a idea. But a group of carbineers all firing simutaniously into a crowd has to be worth something.

In my opinion it's great when there are two carbineers in a pvp group... but more then two is a bit useless...
When a chargeshot knocks an opponent down and annother chargeshot hits the same opponent he will be standing again... thats why many carbineers fireing chargeshot would only derange themselves.

Although.....watching the animationof 5 carbineers using chargeshotat the same time would be kinda funny to see.

2-3 Carbineers in a large PvP group is great, but keep in mind that they can easily be slaughtered by a single DoT-pikeman/Doc or Jedi.
I've gone on Carbineer-only rampages with a BH/Carbineer, but only because I also have Master Fencer and can as such rely on it should any Jedi/meleer's come into play.
Carbineer is a strong support profession, but it alone would not be enough to counter poisons and DoTs unless you had a Carbineer/CM and Carbineer/Doc.. which poses a whole new series of issues of viability.
To recap: In a group of 10 players, there should be atleast 1 Carbineer and in a group of 15-20, atleast 2. The ability to inflict states alone is essential.. and it's even better when state-inducing specials are coupled with DoT weapons on the Carbineer's part. I can for example inflict a blind/stun/dizzy as well as poison/set fire to a large group within seconds.. something that no other profession can accomplish.

you guys make some good points, wilibus' the best i think. Though in a carbineer only group i'm sure there would be cm's and doc's.
In pvp basic ranking for professions (pure professions only, no templates or defense stacking) A "1" being "lack of combat profession" (a crafter) and a 10 being "ultimate combat profession" (not sure of a example)...where would carbineer be placed?

Actually I'd place it as a3 or a 4. Simple Master Carbineer alone doesn't quite cut it for PvP. The only other profession which lacks is Pistoleer. As soon as you consider Carbineer "templates", however.. like stacking with defenses or going BH/Carbineer, then yeah, I'd easily place it as an7 or a 8, but not a9 or a 10. There are templates that can easily beat ours (they would be a 9), and even those templates are not invincible (an invincible one would be a 10.)

No, whatever you are smoking is a 10, not a pure Carbineer.....

I am almost curious as to how many carbineers it would take to bring down an experienced knioht.
